Minecraft OG, Semi-OG, and other types of Minecraft accounts are sold (or traded) for daily on mcmarket. These accounts are sold from anywhere between $5 (USD, respectively) and $500 (USD, respectively).

As someone who has never purchased, sold or traded a Minecraft account on mcmarket, I have trouble understanding how people ''appraise'' these accounts. There's no clear guideline, and it seems primarily opinion based.

As far as I can tell the amount of characters in a name (3/4 being more valuable), the word itself and possible ranks can influence the price of an account.

My question is if there is an ''official'' guideline used on this market to determine the value of a Minecraft account, and if not, how people determine the prices of an account.

If I'm honest, people pluck a random value from thin air to "appraise" an account. The worth of an account is what someone is willing to pay, and depending on the name - members have more interest than others. E.g. in my example, an Android user may not see as much "worth/value" than an Apple user.

Not entirely true. They do it with the basis of previous accounts that have been sold for a given amount, and all respective capes/etc. There is a degree of randomness and subjectiveness, yes, but nothing different to any other appraisal (there is less to measure on an account, so things like domain appraisals will always be more accurate).

Eh I suppose, but often people pick random values

Yeah, not really a guideline for it, sometimes it varies from 1 golden carrot - 7 golden apples.

Seriously though, check the appraisals section, theres thousands of those.
