Here is one example - it is a custom swords plugin.
/ce give (name) (poison, blindness, slowness, nausea)

This gives you a sword which applies these potion effects to the other player; with a 1/4 chance.

I have coded many inventory plugins (GUIs). If you are looking for any immediate plugins then I suppose those I could use for examples.

I have also coded some custom item plugins like medical kits... However I've never coded or attempted a gamemode.
