Development Idea

Hello,

So this is going to be short and sweet since I'm on my phone.

I am requesting that you make a place where people can ask development questions, similar to Spigot forums.

Well this could be another reason for users joining and could grow the website player base as people can come here for development help.

People may also have a service for development assistance, or for lessons (Ammar T already offers this).

Obviously you could also use the "Development" section too - however -

1. Developers only go here to post their threads - after that there is no need.

2. Some developers may want to scroll through the new category to specifically help people and answer questions.

What would this bring to the community?
I believe that implementing this would mean that MCM could attract more aspiring developers and also help improve the skills and knowledge base of some of the current developers here.

Downside -

It may be pointless
It may not work

If this happens the category can be removed anyway, so I'm not too sure why it would matter.

I would like this, as it would be much easier than being laughed at on Spigot.

I'd like to hear more opinions,

You clearly didn't read the thread, you're probably not a developer, but you should know that it is hard starting out and being taunted and teased on Spigot.

This could increase player base.

Improve people's development skills helping server owners out all over.


Etc.

This category isn't for you either, so I don't see why it affects you? I clearly stated that if it fails, simply remove it.

I used to be a developer, I know where you're coming from, but if the idea has been implemented in the past and hasn't succeeded, it's not worth doing again and just failing again.

The idea hasn't been properly implemented - I don't think it was advertised enough. I mean a lot of people agree with it, it could be helpful - and that was 6 months ago; did Eddie the Eagle give up because he failed his first jump? Okay, a little bit of a stupid anecdote, but this could help a lot of people.

How is it hidden? It's a section like any other?
There's just enough interest for it.

When someone wants to discuss a topic related to development, he'll look for a section that has to do with it. It's not like he'll think "oh wow, the section is on the bottom of the page, I'm not going to post my thread now."

It's quite hard to find the category.. I mean I'm not sure - I think we should have a more specific category and encourage learning .
