Hiya devs,

I got a few questions for y'all. I might try tot into coding again, and I'm wondering a few things. First, which is the most profitable developing area? This ranges from Minecraft, game, website - let me know! Secondly, where/how do I learn it? Please don't tell me just open up the coding program and watch youtube videos, I'm a terrible learner like that I need one on one training.

That's basically it, please let me know if you have any tips n tricks.

Minecraft plugins if you're planning on using a mc forum to advertise. Jars make a LOT. go into websites if you have other places to sell. I used solo learn a bit. didn't learn much because I didn't pay attention to it but its good

Do web development. That's a skill you can use more later in life. There's no demand outside this community for Minecraft plugin developers.

Personally I wouldn't have the intention of learning development just to earn money.
That aside, I agree with the people above. Don't limit yourself to Minecraft plugins, aim for something like web development or software development.
Once you've gotten the basics of coding you can then start learning Java for Minecraft plugins, as it will be much easier to start with it if you already have coding knowledge. This way you can be more effective, make higher quality plugins and get some experience in another field before you settle with Minecraft

if you want one-on-one learning you are best suited to hire somebody (preferably not off here since half the people on here have no idea what the fuck they're doing) and get one-on-one training. as said above if you are looking to make a quick buck development is certainly profitable if you are good enough at it, however the trade-off is that you will to be a bit intelligent with shit - from personal experience, simply doing it because it gives money (which is what a ton of bad developers do) is going to turn out into shitty products thus reducing your revenue and sales - essentially you've defeated the very point..

but if you want objective advice, from what i can see high quality mc development is in demand. figure out what works for you and learn it in the way that works for you, you will see unfettered success.

everyone's telling you to learn webdev and i kinda agree. i was not in the position to do so considering i don't have good frontend experience, however i'm good at backend and based on my personal predictions, in the age of where we're moving towards a decentralized web, web3 applications & PWAs, WASM (essentially trying to replace native with web) it is an incredibly lucrative and important sector of development atm.

i am 50/50 on the opinions on this thread, while mc plugin development is probably not going to sustain you for the rest of your life it can be very lucrative, and the money can be reinvested into learning other technologies. MC plugin development is in java so it's a good place to learn basic programming concepts with the spigot API, OOP, and you can get into JARs and shit if you're talented enough.

i'm getting off-topic here. anyways, if you prefer learning one-on-one then find a way to do it. you'll benefit a lot in the long run if you learn in the way which suits you

thanks for coming to one more of my useless ted talks
I probably wouldn't want to focus on Minecraft because of your exact reasoning. So Im still 50/50 on what to do.

id advise you to look more into web coding since I've seen people make like 3 grand from 1 commission ( obviously including much more than just a website ) but they can be very profitable if you hit up business.

Any idea where I can find lessons for it? Which language?
