Disallow Selling Hacked Clients

So it has come to my attention that many people on this website have been making threads about selling minecraft hacked clients and almost 90% of these threads are just leaked clients from hackforums/[Censored] which is getting kinda annoying. This might seem unfair for some legit people who make clients themselves but from what I've seen so far, it's just a bunch of kids trying to make quick money by tricking people into thinking it's a unleaked client that can bypass anything. Let me know what you guys think.

You may place the block, but the software is what actually handles it making it fall under the category of "distributing something Mojang has made." I would like to revise my statement about plugins in general and change it to Bukkit / Spigot plugins. Spigot is built around the server software Mojang made. Other server softwares such as Trident are completely written from scratch with 0 code stolen from Mojang. The classes that handle the protocol are written from scratch unlike Spigot's which means Mojang had nothing to do with it.

These items do fall under the Fair Use Act, because neither of these things effect Mojang's bottom line, but accounts on the other hand do, because it's causing them to lose money (indirectly) when you buy from others at a cheaper price.

U.S. law is irrelevant. You are still breaking the terms whether you are selling plugins, builds, or accounts and Mojang can rightfully prevent you from using their service any time they like. They won't win a lawsuit, but they can stop you from using their software.

I'm neutral with this but, It's a minecraft website what can you expect from it.

I enjoy this idea, but this isn't all good. Not selling Hacked Clients will reduce the wide-spread attack of people with clients on servers though, doing this will also make it bad for some. Not selling them will make it so people can't use them to test out, have fun in private servers, and just overall use.

Now I'm not saying that I condone the uses of a Hacked Client, I'm just saying removing Hacked Client sales wouldn't be good.

I disagree for a couple reasons...

I believe that selling of hacked clients and such should be allowed, to an extent.

I personally dont make or condone clients but thats me, people do though and we have to try our best to cater for everyones needs.

One way we could counter the idea of leaked clients, is make a section for Selling Clients, then wait until a staff member or someone assigned to the job has checked the client etc, making sure the client goes through that verification process. Then once it has passed, will go on to be able to be sold.

The problem with this is that the current staff team is already very busy, and it would take absolute ages to get the client approved.

Nope. My hacked client is fully compliant with their legal terms. I do not use any of their source code, they can not make a legal claim that I can not modify their code live by bytecode transformation.

Modified clients are also a market, I wouldn't suppress it without reason. It's hardly the worst thing on this site.
