Hello, I can see it is necessary. Some people make these accounts by errors or maybe want to remove them cause they stopped using it or removed the company. What happens if a company disband? ... It is a bit... stupid to don’t allow users to remove their own business accounts, it is like something you will have to have always... And it is a bit stupid since you should be able to disable it... You know, you are not removing your own account, if the user made something bad with the business account the moderators would check who was the owner of that account and that would be all... It is necessary and I couldn’t believe there isn’t a option to remove them, so here I am, trying to make it better.

You can probably open a support request to get the business account removed

No, the staff team told me I can’t. And other people with business accounts told me that too, cause they want to remove it too.

Deleting accounts will break things: any previous posts or interactions made on the forum by said account will no longer be associated with anything.

And if you simply want to "unlink" a business account, then you'll be left with hundreds of random & abandoned business accounts floating around.

tl;dr: if you don't want a business account anymore, then don't use it? It's not like it significantly alters your experience browsing with your personal account.

I mean you'd know that XenForo has the option to either completely destroy account data (in which case then posts would show up as guest), or remove the account from public view (which preserves previous posts). I don't particularly think that'd be an issue too much.

To add on to Lyphiard, though (regarding floating accounts), what would stop people from just deleting a business account, creating a new one, and rinse and repeat? If you don't want a business account, disregard it or change its name to reflect a new business if applicable.

I don’t like having something in my profile called “Business Accounts” and what about if I don’t want someone else sees it? I want to stop using the name of it... And the fault of what the business account does should be from the owners, isn’t it? Even removing the business account the staff should be able to see who was the owner of the account.[DOUBLEPOST=1565547703][/DOUBLEPOST]
What about if a business account has supreme rank or something?
What’s the use of buying supreme to remove the account

It's be easier just to leave it, then buy an upgrade so you can change your name. Obviously what your suggesting is better, however this would cause many problems.

Well, someone might of thought about buying supreme and then boom business runs down. Yes, you could change the name however, say they have bad rep they would want that gone as well.

In our business account updates that we are getting custom developed in the near future, we are implementing functionality to disable any unused business accounts similar to how disabling your main account works. Doing so would still show the account in the business accounts tab, but the business accounts profile will not be visible (except for their owners tab for abuse-prevention reasons).

I think that this is a good middleground between letting users delete their business account and ensuring we're able to keep track of users. Disabled accounts will be able to be enabled anytime after a 7 day cooldown, just like how disabling currently works.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
