Is there a hosting company that has a panel sorta like multicraft or pyterodactyl for Discord bots?

I think it'd be beneficial ;P /shrug not sure how cheap it'll be or something or if its even profitable.

This is technically the only 'custom feature' left in the hosting industry. Kappa

That's a good idea, might be worth setting something up like that.
I can't guarantee it'll take off, however I do believe that I would use this since its hard for me to find reliable hosts besides OVH.com (in which even then $3/month to run a whole VPS SSD 1 is kind of a waste of money since you might want to host a simple ass bot that doesn't take up nearly as much as that VPS offers).

I think an official host or feature to that for discord bots would be great. You'd have to take into account of the environment the bot would be running in as NodeJS, JDA, discord.py, etc.

By reliable I mean I don't want to depend on users here on MCM who have spare VPS's to work with since I need to pester them over discord to update my bot with the new files or something. It'd be hell of a lot easier if it was just panel for me to use.

I was thinking of making something like this a few weeks ago actually, might do it when I get some free time.
that would look pretty sick, to be honest. Any ideas on how the pricing will go?
I'd suggest a yearly pricing for hosting companies to get the most out of this. By month is too expensive as I've had offers for $1/month to $2/month but yearly pricing was like $10/year.

You could perhaps raise this up by like a dollar or two and make money like that /shrug.

Not to mention if an official discord bot hosting company were to form, their site can advertise Discord Bot developer freelancers :p

Fire has done it already, works well :)
Yeah... Except he's not all too responsive when you need to get a new bot up and running. I believe he is the manual initial setup and then you can play around with the file manager yourself and all. Ideally there should be an automatic host out there.

I contacted many people about this thing. A panel like that would cost around $1000 if you want it to work well. I am not sure how profitable it will be.

$1000 sounds a bit much. Perhaps if it was fully custom, however I think using existing panels like what Fire does and just tweaking it to be automatic.

Taking Pterodactyl and making it 100% custom isn't possible. The problem with that will be the fact that the Daemon Pterodactyl uses is coded in NodeJS v6 if I am not wrong which is a really outdated version of NodeJS, this means you will basically need to recreate the Daemon to make it work with the latest versions of NodeJS to allow NodeJS Discord hosting, as well as you will need to work on how to host Python bots which is basically creating another type of container, all that work doesn't really worth it, it will be much cheaper to create a fully custom panel, the cheapest price I have gotten for a fully custom panel was around $600 if I am not mistaken, a lot of work is involved then you need to test everything and make sure it works well, this can take weeks or even months to complete.

v6 just went into the "Maintenance Only" LTS stage this month, and has continued support through April 2019. But you're also wrong because we support (and recommend installing in our docs) v8. v9 also runs fine, but isn't mentioned because it isn't a LTS release.

Please stop pulling random information from thin air. You don't have to recode anything to get it running on v8, and thats not even how these releases work, especially given that we aren't using any parts of the language that are unstable or prone to breaking changes.

You could probably make a custom egg for Pterodactyl and make it run bots with Discord.JS but it might take some time. I also don't know if it is possible. Maybe if I have time I'll tinker.
