Nearly every request for work has someone post, saying "Join my discord, make a ticket, and we will give you a quote." it is clearly a standard in some ways, and competition to a visible degree has largely disappeared. I miss the board that did not have discord tags as a response for requests, or services. I would respect this platform more if it took some steps to keep discussion of services requested on the platform kept to the platform, until the original poster asks about further contact details for someone.

The forum element of BuiltByBit will likely be retired in favour of Discord and the site will refocus on selling resources but I get what you mean. Jumping ship toward Discord gives Discord more control over how we govern our community and gives us less control over our platform. On the website, we can set our own rules and develop features specific to our needs.

Moving platforms seems like a sensible move, but if Mick was willing to commit development resources towards keeping people on Built-By-Bit, we might have been able to keep the site alive and curb Discord's rapid growth as one of the dominant players in the digital communication space.
