Discord has truly fucked me over...

TL;DR - Discord support is useless, if you have an issue, you're fucked...

Bit of backstory, on 20th May - 23rd May, my discord account was compromised because my email account was hacked into and I didn't have 2FA activated, which I do now.

The person who got into my account bought Discord Nitro gifts to multiple accounts and tried to process nearly $1,000 worth of yearly $99.99 nitro subscriptions to my card which was linked to my account. Luckily, my bank blocked those transactions been as though they were being done at 4am my time and from an IP address not from my country, but processed the smaller monthly payments. I contacted my bank and they froze my account ect and cancelled my card linked and refunded me the payments, as they were fraudulent.

Discord were useless when I tried to get my account back saying they can't do anything as I didn't have access to my email I signed up with

Anyways onto the story, so I woke up yesterday morning to my discord account being disabled and I had to contact support. The email I got from them was saying that I abused their community guidelines / TOS. The reason was because payment disputes had been opened with my account which I presume are for the payments which were due to the hackers into my account.

I was pissed but I understand as they wouldn't know that they were unauthorised, so I sent them an email explaining the situation how my email was hacked and my discord was compromised. They came back with a very shocking email which got me so fuming.

What the actual fuck?! So because my discord was hacked it was my fault and I have to pay for the little fucks discord nitro subscriptions they put through??

Not to mention, I can't even cancel the chargebacks because they've been opened as fraudulent by my bank so I physically have no control over it.

I own hundreds of dollars worth of discord servers, playerbases and contacts on that discord account I've had for over 2 years at this point, paying over $100 in discord nitro subscriptions, for them to disable my account because I was hacked?!

Has anyone else had this type of issue and had it resolved? Also if anyone potentially has any contacts at discord I can get in contact with directly about this, it would be most appreciated.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to have a 2nd account when my main is temp disabled so if you want to contact me on discord, pm me for the account.

Honestly, discord is pretty shit. I own a decently size server and they threaten to remove it because our server was a platform for "edating" like wtF. They also fucking disabled my account because I joked I was 12 in chat. Like if I get where they're coming from but shit they really gotta look more carefully at things.

While I 100% agree that Discord is an extremely flawed platform and has terrible support, I can see where they are coming from.

Take Mc-Market for example: If your account gets compromised and whoever took your account scams people, you’re held accountable. Users need to ensure their accounts are secure in order to avoid these situations from ever happening.

Yeah but this is a thousand dollars + his own bank opened up fraudulent claims so it’s out of his control. What happens on here isn’t like what happens in a real world situation

Probably why you shouldn’t invest thousands of dollars on an unstable platform with terrible support.

What I’m saying is your logic is flawed here. If someone compromised my shit and charged up huge sums of money that I cannot repay, but I report it, I’m not going to be held liable. That is how such should work on Discord. If you get compromised & report it you’re not supposed to be held liable. MCM is a weird exception to this

That’s how it should work yes, but that’s not how it actually works now does it? This post shows that Discord disabled his account as a result of the various chargebacks made by whoever compromised his account. Real world or not, it happened. Don’t get me wrong, it really sucks what they’re doing to him, but this is a great lesson. Secure your account and this can be prevented.
