For the love of god, everyone is so intent on sticking to names and Discord tags for Discord impersonation checking.
Do not use peoples' Discord names and tags to check if the person is impersonating.
Why?
Use Discord IDs. In order to do this, you need to go to your Settings menu down at the bottom left, and click it. From there, go to Appearance, scroll down and select Developer Mode:
You can check someone's ID by right clicking on them:
Click "Copy ID". Now find the person you're dealing with onsite, and get them to give you their ID. They should give it out to you. You'll know if the ID(s) is/are fake, too.
Next you need to use a string matching program/website to see if the IDs are identical. By all means do this yourself, but something like this: https://text-compare.com/, is faster.
Please don't get scammed via Discord kthxbye.

- "Homoglyphs" are characters that may look identical, but are actually different. This causes people to be confused and gain the "same" name with the same number tag.
- People can change their Discord #tag. This is confusing in itself.
