I think we should make it so you can't use Discord as a contact detail anymore. Knowing it's so easy to change your Discrim, and all the fonts and symbols you can use to make the exact Discord as someone else, it's just not safe. For example, today someone used my old Discord discrim to scam someone, I'm now a 0001. I think you should just have Skype and other stuff, but not Discord.

If you want to verify a discord just send them a code via PM and tell them to tell you what it is. Skype is also kind of dead here on MCM.

I know, and i'm still getting called a scammer because someone is posing as me.

People impersonated others before Discrim Nitro was a thing and still scammed people. People are going to get impersonated, people are going to get scammed by impersonators regardless if it's on Discord or not.

Well now I'm getting scam reports and negative reputation over something I didn't even do, I guess I'll just explain what's going on when I have to respond to the report.

If you didn't do it, the report will be denied (after investigation) and the neg reps will be removed for not being true.

Skype is still used by a small part of the community but I often see people stop using skype and moving over to Discord.
I recently changed my discrim to #0001 too but I changed it in my contact information so people know what's the right contact. I also posted it on my profile that I changed it.
I just think that removing it fully won't be as much help.

Since the time this suggestion has been posted, it's safe to say that Skype has essentially died on the site and everyones moved over to Discord, so people are more aware of how discord discriminators work and how to prevent impersonators. Unfortunately there'll always be a few new members who get scammed by impersonators, but completely removing discord doesn't really solve anything.
