I'd also like to hear opinions as my team has been suggested a great amount of times to buy Stellar but we would like to know if further optimizations would be necessary.

Apparently their spigot is still under development, after talking to their staff. He plans to compare Stellar and Saber once its complete. Until then, I am going to stick with Stellar. Maybe one day, I'll make the switch over if Saber ends up outpreforming it.

Anyways, back onto the main topic. I'd love to hear about any optimizations that can be done to cannon jars in general.

Oh bruh, I thought the OP was Yams.
Haha.

Haha.

only reason i asked this is because im debating whether or not its worth the time to make a custom spigot fork for just cannoning

You would need to figure out the best way to emulate the math from Minecraft 1.7(the working cannoning version) in your desired version. As it seems, a decent amount of people have figured this out but nobody wants to share this implementation as it could make them a lot of money.

This really sucks for me because I'd love to use the 1.7 math for cannons on 1.16 but people are only selling 1.8 cannon jars.

This brings me to my next question. How are people getting 1.7 cannons to work in 1.8?
They could have programmed their own equations for power velocity gravity etc, or the could have decompiled Minecraft 1.7 to get all of the correct motion physics and stuff. This isn't as straight forward as I make it out to be because then you would have to adapt your implementation to be compatible with spigot. I'm only a Java beginner so I couldn't tell you how to do this if I tried.

My final question that I will leave everyone with is when will we see Minecraft cannon servers that are running on 1.16?
