Do servers really need lots of staff?

I've seen servers on here that haven't even been released yet recruiting 10-20+ staff members.

Is this really needed? Unless you have really strict rules and your players are unusually rowdy, there wouldn't really need to be a staff member on at all time. To stop hacking, server owners use anti-cheat plugins that usually do the trick.

The only time I could think of people needing 10-20 members of staff is if they had a fairly large server such as 100 players online at any given time.

The only instance where even more staff would be needed is if you are running a gigantic network with tons of players.

Yeah, I see a lot of start up servers getting a lot of staff and I think its because of two reasons. One reason is they want staff on 24/7 to answer the players questions and moderate the server. The second reason is that if you have 20 staff and half is online, then you got 10 people on the server so your server doesn't look empty.

When the server isn't open for every players (so when he is under developpement / building / ... ), it isn't very useful to have lot of Staff member because : - it's difficult to look everybody and everythink they are doing, - it's difficult to trust everybody, - it's dangerous (you ideads may be stolen or you content ), - ...
There is many reasons.
But if the server is open, you can be more than before, especialy in : moderators , helpers , ...

If you make some staff they're like 90% more likely to play on your server, even if the only thing you give them is a coloured prefix and the permission to kick and temp ban.

HCF Servers usually have a shit ton of staff because the pvp community is toxic and full of hackers lmfao

For me, at least 20 staff is kinda needed, running a PvP network there always needs to be at least one-two staff online at all times, anticheats do not really fully stop cheaters, specially ones with lower/stealthier settings.

HCF servers = needs a lot of staff, other servers = small but efficient staff.

Honestly, all you need is an Anti-Cheat, a chat filter (if you don't allow swearing), and a chat cooldown. Staff aren't really needed, but they're good for things like forums and responding to reports.

no not all servers. If you ever went in one.single.ranked.match on the old kohi, you would be thinking "wow, I thought this server had an anti cheat" now kohi merged, so people mostly play HCF because the merge was awfully horrifyingly trash. So that's why HCF servers need tons of staff. Hope I cleared any confusion! :tup:

I wasn't talking about HCF servers, I was talking about just servers in general.

I agree but I think the reason is because some servers want to have a LOT of features and stuff, I've only seen this on incoming bungeecord servers. Some people want 1 person in charge of each server with 5 admins for each server lol.
