I got a question to everyone

Do you discuss your income / savings / money to your friends, family or partner?

I did do it before but after a recent incident I’m stopping and I don’t think I want to tell people anymore what I earn and how much I got saved up etc etc.

Seems a bit toxic and people can just use it against you / use you for the money. It’s a shitty feeling :(

Do you guys talk to others about money?

I only discuss about how much I make with really close friends, like a person or 2. Not even my parents.

Honestly no. Best advice I would give anyone : Less people that know anything about your personal life such as your income/savings etc the better. No one needs to know how much you earn or save, it doesn't concern them and there is simply no need.

The only person that you can discuss such things is with your partner.

I agree with you, 100%.

I never tell my parents how much stuff cost me - or how much I earn anymore. I know myself.

that’s something else I can agree on. Definitely. Nobody needs to know whether you’re earning 10 grand a year or earning 500 grand a year. It’s your personal life.

As much as I’d love to say I agree - it depends what sort of relationship you have with them

I don't think the place to ask is on this forum, as you only get rep and make a name of yourself if you flex being a millionare from BTC investments at 15 years old.

But to answer your question: yes. I am very open with how much I earn, how much I have and what I spend my money on with my friends and family. It gives me perspective and it lets me reflect over what I have, what I'm getting and what I buy. This in the end makes me handle my money better and better. I pay a lot in rent, and I am very happy that I have been able to save up and buy a RTX 3080 graphics card. I think I was able to save up for this was because of how I discuss money openly.

But don't get me wrong, I don't sit on the internet and talk income with strangers, only people I know.

I don't usually discuss income with people on a block game unless they are close friends, but I don't find the topic of pay to be THAT sensitive. Usually I talk about money with my parents, siblings, partner and work friends, and other IRL friends. I don't see a need to discuss income online though unless you are working with a business partner or investor or something - not steve504 on Discord :D

I don't earn money, but what I know I won't share it with anyone. Maybe some really really close people but that's a person or two. It can really be used against you, and they can easily just use your money.
"Well you made $X so you can afford it", X = Some amount of money (Let's say $1,000)
They can easily just say: "Well you've made a grand, you can give me $250 yeah????"

Just don't share it unless you are 100% sure that they WILL NOT use it against you.

I am open to discuss on how much I earn actually, keeping it secret is just a flex only. Stating my opinion here only
