Do you make more than minimum wage?

Where I live (NY) minimum wage is $12.50/hour ($13.50/hour for fast food chains, but elsewhere in the states, its around $8. So my question to you is, on average, do you make more than minimum wage freelancing on MCM?

Now, this is kind of a hard question, (and an embarrassing one for some), due to the fact that we loosely price based on hours it takes, but if something takes more/less time than planned, we don't change the price for the client. So all things considered, do you make more than minimum wage? ($8 USD)

Depends really, when I started off a few months back, yes I definitely made way less than minimum wage. Now I definitely make more, but that's just the time spent coding. The time spent communicating, bidding, finding clients, wasted time on clients that end up going with someone else, probably puts me right back below minimum wage.

But it is what it is I guess, not much one can do other than keep working and try not to get burnt out.

Nah. No one here pays well enough to justify the time I spend doing their commissions. I have a few connections who get/or ask for me to do commissions occasionally - and generally good paying ones too. But other than that, nope.

Same. Aounrd 30% of the time I'm making more, but on average I'm definitely making less all things considered.


However, I'm only 14, meaning there are severe restrictions for where I can work, how much I can work, etc. So imo, its ok to be making less.
