Do you tell people IRL about your online hustles/money making?

I only tell my dad minor things like what I do with Crypto, Setups and Configs. He's smart enough to know what Crypto and what I do so I'm grateful he thinks I'm not like an online scammer or doing something illegal.
Outside of my dad I barely say a thing because unless you're at an IRL job, everyone treats it like a joke.

My parents know that I do little things with crypto and know that I have the ability to program, and mostly all of my friends at my school know I'm a programmer. So yes, most of the people in my life know I program.
I will gladly show off my online achievements in a potentional interview, I believe if you can show to certain things you've started up and ran yourself succesfully, you'd stand pretty good out from the crowd. The majority of people does not do these things, to my experience
My parents know that I program all the time, I've had an interest in computers since a very early age, so to them it's no surprise - they don't really understand anything about technology though, bless them, so they kind of just smile and nod whenever I talk about it haha
In terms of meeting new people, I just say I'm a programmer but don't go into any specifics until I've gotten to know them a bit better

Used to do commissions but stopped doing those a while back, was impressed but chastised me for taking on some pretty morally ambiguous commissions. Good father tbh.

I'm pretty open with my friends and co-workers about making minecraft art on the side and my other side projects. It usually starts conversations about their own side hustles and they occassionally ask how it's going. I've done a pretty good job of editing people out of my life if they aren't interested in what I do or aren't that supportive
The only person I talk to IRL is my dad, so yeah he knows about my work. He even payed for a year course at IT academy and hopefully when time comes he'll also help me pay to go to a software engineering college
I'm personally not one for sharing things with irl friends/family unless they do something similar to whatever it is a may be sharing.
Outside of close friends & family I tend to share, as connections in various industries are always helpful!
Honestly, I found this thread really interesting because when I decided to take up working on Minecraft, no one really understands. It's really interesting when people ask me what I do and I explain and it's great when people show an interest in what you do, sure most of the time they don't fully understand it but people with kids especially find it super interesting.
If you think about it, you're owning/managing large communities of people and that's truly amazing. You're making an impact on so many peoples lives and you don't even know it sometimes. Just think about all the thousands of players that connect through communities you manage and your mind will be blown.
Anyways, in regards to the topic, I tell people when they ask, I don't go around broadcasting it but if people show interest more than happy to explain to them what I do. Equally my parents don't really understand so even when you're doing bad you can make it out to be amazing and that's something no other job can really offer. Something people don't always understand wields more power than we give it credit.
