Now I know some of you might comment that this isn't possible but I can assure you it is 100% possible. When the mc version 1.8 started to barely come out someone on spigot released a protocol hack to allow 1.7 players to join a 1.8 server running a 1.8 jar, the new features in 1.8 were not able to be seen in 1.7 for example if a player in 1.8 were to plop down a slime block the player in 1.7 would see an emerald block. I have done this before so I know it is possible I just lost the protocol hack version and have no idea where to get it back so im here asking you amazing people.
My question to you is does anyone have this protocal hack version allowing 1.7 clients to connect to a 1.8 server because I cant seem to find it anywhere after a good hour of deep googling its like the creator wiped it.
If no one has this protocol hack version would you know of any other methods of being able to use a 1.8 jar alowing 1.7 players to join? If you comment Carbon it would be amazing if you could link me the right spigot version that actually works for it.
You might be asking why I would want this?
1. If I were to get my hands on this protocal hack I would be able to add the plugin viaversion essentially making the server 1.7 - 1.11
2. plugins are much more faster to create
Wouldnt this cuase complications with players using 1.8+ having extra items than with players using 1.7?
At first yes but making a simple plugin or skript disabling the crafting/mining of a certain item/block would be easy.
