Hello.

I own the domain OPAnarchy.com, which is hooked up to Cloudflare. I have this domain directing to my Minecraft server & for some reason some people can join, and some people can't ping it. This isn't a country by country issue either as people that live in the same state can/can't join.

Current DNS settings:

For the people that can't join, they are able to ping the "opanarchy.com" domain in their cmd and get a result from the above IP, but they can't use that IP in MC (even with the port which is 25565).

This isn't the servers fault either, as they can join perfectly fine using the direct ip. It's a domain issue.

If anyone knows anything that could be causing this, please do let me know.

Thanks cuties x

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

On cloudflare create a SRV record. Old video but same principle.

My host's port is 25565, so a SRV isn't needed. I actually did make one originally, but deleted it today thinking that was the issue. Clearly it wasn't, and doesn't fix it either.

This isn't a DNS issue. It's server related.

Do you know what Imparticular? So I can follow this up with them.

Do you happen to have a website pointed to opanarchy.com?

If so, you'll need a sub-domain such as play.opanarchy.com, etc.

I have a website, but it's attached to the same machine. Some players can ping the server, some can't however. Should I test with a subdomain?

If it's all on the same machine, it shouldn't be an issue then.

Hmm. And you say that some people can ping the server and some can't?

Exactly right. For example, my mate jml can from Australia & someone else from Australia can't ping it that lives 20 minutes away from him.

Same situation all over the world. Some people can ping, some can't. It's driving me insane.

It happened me once and I had port 25565 too. Just create a SRV record or use TCPShield, it fixes it.

EDIT: I just made some example DNS Records for you in case you're confused. You can try this:

This is what it looks like with the SRV.

Try changing your A record to another name and then change it from the SRV record. Put weight to 5

I made it 5, changing the @ record will simply make the whole domain not connect to the machine. I don't see the point in this?

Did you change the the A name and the SRV target accordingly? Also, some people can join with just adding a SRV record, it happened me once and I fixed it by just that.[DOUBLEPOST=1597423962][/DOUBLEPOST]If you want message me on Discord to have a better communication. /dev/null#1234
