Don't ban people for multiple accounts.

I've seen so many users that have been banned because they have multiple accounts.

Why do you ban the user for having multiple accounts, when you could just ban the multiple accounts.

Sometimes people just honestly forget they made an account on MC-Market and now they are banned for what in my opinion is a silly reason.

This it the rule I'm quoting

1.4 Do not create multiple accounts. Each member is allowed one personal and one business account.

Yes, multiple accounts can be annoying, but if you can ban the person who has multiple accounts, you can warn or suspend the account instead of banning it.

I know this suggestion will probably not get approved - but sometimes its an honest mistake. And I don't think people should be punished as such.

If you create another account, the account beforehand doesn't get banned afaik? They make you use the account you created first and then give you a lot of warning points on that account, but you don't get banned. The accounts you're seeing banned for creating multiple accounts was the other account the person made, not their previous account. (unless they changed this recently)

Person makes account 2 and uses it thinking they don't have an account.
MCM staff realize they made another account, they ban account 2 and leave account 1 unbanned, but they get warning points for making another account. (I think 35?)

No, as of now if you have multiple account the mods just ban you. Im not really sure tho, I'd like a mod or someone to confirm this for me! and you

This makes no sense to me personally as to why they would've changed it?

Look at this account which is now banned for breaking a bunch of rules and read the first comment ever on his profile page from Justis R himself.

He used to use another account, but that account was banned & he was allowed to use his first one. I don't think they changed this, but again, idk.

If they did, then yea they shouldn't just be straight up banned.

If another account is created for the same person, the newer one should be banned while the original receives a TOS violation if I remember correctly which is a warning1.4 violation.

There may of course occasionally be errors in determining which account to ban in which case it should be brought up in a ticket to be resolved.

You’re mistaken. Only the alt gets banned, to ensure it can no longer be used. The user is still able to use our website normally on their main account, which will receive 5 warning points when the alt is banned.
If the user is ban evading or suspension evading with the alt account, the main will get 15 warning points instead of 5.

I know multiple users who have various accounts, I just don't report it anymore since so many people do it.
It's been introduced to avoid reaction farming and reputation farming most likely, so I see why it exists.
People also aren't banned for doing it.

Please report it. So many people wouldn’t be able to get away with it, if reports were properly being made.
Regardless of what the alt accounts are being used for, they are not allowed. Please enable our staff team to correct their actions and remove the violating accounts.

This isn't a rule clarification though, this is a punishment clarification. And even then I think it's clear enough.

I had two other accounts, I got 5 warning points for each (enough for a suspension) and the others were banned.

No other punishment apart from the points and the suspension for I think like 3-7 days..
I don't personally see the problem here, people aren't banned permanently for having more than one account.

I had 2 accounts made before this account, they banned the old accounts and I got warning points on this account. They don't always make you keep the older account.
