Don't trust high reps anymore

Theres people who do small deals like 10 or something and build up like what 40 rep? thats not a big of a deal the thing that pisses me off is that they wait for the perfect time to exit scam. for me I thought Durex was trustable never dealt with him but from my point of view he looked trusted buying skins and what not. he just exited scammed with +10 reps this proves to show anyone can exit scam i can name 10 more people with over 10 rep that exit scam but you already know who they are. you might be thinking why the fuck did you make this. its just proving that no one can be trusted rep or not rep means nothing.

that applies to most people. rep system is easily exploitable and was exploited by many users.
rep doesn't mean much
vouches however do. no, not vouches for vouch copies, fuck that shit

i'd say there are 4 categories of high rep people
high rep people that got a lot of rep from services
high rep people that kinda exploited the rep system
high rep people that have a lot of vouches, and optionally a lot of rep, however they have done several deals worth hundreds and have used the site for months if not years and usually have tons of posts and reactions, meaning they don't shitpost - I'd call these HQ high reps
high rep people that got rep from small deals/vouch copies and barely spent time on the site, usually don't have many posts - LQ high reps

LQ high reps like Durex are most of the type of high reps that exit scammed in the past months.
there were obviously some others who exit scammed and were hq but not that common.

conclusion: don't trust LQ high reps for big deals
use middlemen
use andrew's middleman service TM

Durex wasnt even trusted lol, also you can just ignore the rep system and deal with a user depending on how much you know him. at least thats the way i do it if he has 90 rep and i have never heard of him i dont go first or i dont even deal with him lmao

For a person to have high rep, you must also consider how long they have been on MCM for and how active they are because an active member of the community who has been here for a while is unlikely to exit scam.

I actually agree with this. A load of people, ones who tried establishing large setup businesses and that sort, all resorted to scamming. Including some extremely reputable members at the time a year or so ago that even scammed me of near a grand. Rep doesn't mean shit on this market. It's all made up. I'll deal with someone with 20 devouches the same as I'll deal with someone with 100 couches.
