Can we just agree that the removal of selling accounts and the shit staff were the downfall of this community?

think when I knew it was going to shit is back when scam reports would take 5 months just to get a reply.

the shit staff were the downfall of this community?

If they are so "shit", contribute your self :)
Report them, make a discussion about staff members whom you think should rethink sometimes?

It's not helping by just crying. It's dying. It's your responsibility as a community member to help as well.
But I do agree it had a downfall since the removal of account reselling, but it's for the better of all :)

I wouldn't say that Mc-Market is dying, I'd say that people are moving on from their infatuation with the website and doing other things with their lives. Those same individuals then come back just to "vibe" and do nothing, and then they claim the website is dying. There is a decreasing number of people who use this website in comparison to a couple years ago, but I wouldn't say It's "dying".

I personally don't agree with rule 1.6, and I believe it should have a more lenient stance. I do believe that people don't feel like they have a voice here because of a more tightening stance on these rules, but again I don't think the community is dying.

To put it simply the website is not dying. The same users I keep seeing that are saying the site is dying are the ones that keep coming back. If you did not like the site you would leave right? So why is it they keep coming back to use it because they clearly find a need for the site. As long as users have this need the site will not die.

I think some people can get annoyed when they get suspended for a reason they see as stupid (I got suspended because two accounts were found made by me about 5 years ago, at least two years before this one was made, which seemed totally un-neccesary). Just some strange rules that can get on peoples nerves, but I suppose that rules have to be there for a reason, right?

I'd say most people getting warned for 1.6 are users calling out staff, then the staff retaliate and chatbox ban/warn the user because their feelings get hurt.

I think me and you both know the fact of how rigged and bias staff apps are and report. Reporting a staff member will do nothing but cause problems on yourself by bias.

No disrespect to the staff don't feel like getting warning points right now

There’s still a small presence but not like the golden days 2017-2019 the site has faded away and honestly the nail in the coffin was removing all account selling the only people disagreeing with me seem to be in the other sections of mc but think about this when a huge part of your community is about buying and selling og mc accounts and then that’s gone then 90% of those people don’t stick around and go to other forums and move on.[DOUBLEPOST=1615694388][/DOUBLEPOST]

Exactly nothing will change they’ll just write this long ass paragraph and close it and just move on it doesn’t matter to them.

the backlog was massive. I'm not shitting on mcm because I know they were short staffed, but seeing the timestamps on some scam reports was insanity.

needless to say, I don't think it was the downfall as there's still a big presence of products and services being offered on this platform. Including myself, I've no shortage of customers on here for design or development purposes.
Yeah but most of the community was into account selling and when that was removed a ton of people moved on I get it’s still useful for those kinds of things but it’s a much smaller community now and it’s decreasing.[DOUBLEPOST=1615694613][/DOUBLEPOST]
just waiting on it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "eligible people will see the application button" ye ye the people they've chosen and PRAY apply.
It’s just a very shitty system overall and so outdated and useless[DOUBLEPOST=1615694675][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think it’s kinda stupid if you call someone a dumbass they get all hurt hurt lmao it’s like people don’t need to be fucking sheltered holy shit.[DOUBLEPOST=1615694741][/DOUBLEPOST]

The issue is they don’t give enough fucks to fix any of the broken stuff and they’re just slowly watching their site crumble they should listen to the community but they don’t at this point they don’t care what anyone says it’s up to them and that’s how I see it.[DOUBLEPOST=1615694814][/DOUBLEPOST]
The only thing that's dead is the shoutbox and it's due to how shitty the warning point and rule enforcement is talking in discord is just easier and safer with how easily "disrespect" is applied to stuff. (Imo the 2 biggest problems on the site). The community is far less idiot-filled and less toxic now the wanna-be rich kids are gone honestly. But the warning point system needs fixed badly... and reasonable expiration times need added (3 years is not reasonable)
They went overboard with it IMO[DOUBLEPOST=1615694925][/DOUBLEPOST]

I did leave lmao check my activity I came back cause I needed to check some info in a message from 2 years ago on an account and I just thought I’d share my thoughts before I say my final goodbyes and there’s still “users” but nothing like it used to be it’s just decreasing at an unhealthy rate.[DOUBLEPOST=1615695023][/DOUBLEPOST]Also another thing is the new rep system was honestly so fucking stupid to me when implemented because they wanted “proof” of a deal from 2 years ago before they implemented any of the new regulations and fucked everyone over they can’t handle shit correctly. Like I get you wanted to change the system but do that for all new rep and stop trying to go after old rep like smh.[DOUBLEPOST=1615695331][/DOUBLEPOST]

Reporting wouldn’t even help you would need all of mcm to come together as a whole to even fix a small issue and personally I don’t think it was for the better when they had the poll because Justis suggested it and it was a very big vote saying no to remove it cause it made no sense to even suggest that lmao but then again they had no control over that due to Minecraft coming and being all stupid. It’s just sad to see what it’s become because I honestly hoped it would continue to prosper.

I will always have an element of nostalgia attached to this place. I remember I would have the OG accounts page on watch and would check multiple times per day to see what new accounts were posted, then pounce asap on a cheap name that I could resell.
It's how I built myself up from small low tier OGs to insane accounts that would be worth 4k+ today.

It was fun interacting with everyone else who all had the same mutual interest of collecting cool mc usernames. People came and went, friends formed then scammed out, I have so much respect to anyone from my time and further back who never scammed and are still in the com even today. It's weird that I can consider myself old now, when I feel like I had bought my "dream account" yesterday only to put it up for sale the next week.

There was just such a rush of getting a new name and hopping on Hypixel to see how many people noticed me in game that kept me from moving on. 14 year old me from 2017 just couldn't resist the urge to just build up until I had the best names in the com. I still made many mistakes along the way, I remember it was March 2018 and I had the most money earned from OGs so far, was around 1k~ish ready to spend. I chose the option between wow, 44, and Nu. Funny enough all 3 get locked within a few weeks of me finally buying Nu of the three. I was fucked either way, but it was a learning experience because I bought Nu off the claim that it was secure, but after buying I found out it was a scam account that was pulled multiple times before, lesson learned but I bounced back and had the name oof a few months later (which I also regret ever selling).

Hell even recently I've been interacting with the 2021 og community even though I took a hiatus from buying usernames for over a year now. It just sucks that MC-Market is stuck as a distant memory for me, some newbies don't even know this place exists when it was once the cornucopia of the community (it's like not knowing the history of your country lol). I probably wont forget this place for a very long time, it's just one of the many cherished memories of my teen years.

It is sad it was just too many steps in the wrong direction and it all crumbled I remember seeing you grow in rep only having 20 then 40 then becoming super trusted on here and having imposters but now they’re all distant memories of what this place once was when everyone actually cared about the community.

Despite all the flaws with MCM like scam reports and support requests time, scammers in general, false bans I had, etc I still really loved this place because it literally provided me with a new hobby. I'll always shed a bit of respect to here even if this place goes into the ground. My homage, and probably the best homage you could ever ask for, is having 1 more underscore than Mick in my username. Take that as a compliment.

I agree with Choo. Mc-Market does have that nostalgia to it with everything I've ever done. I remember all of the little ambitious strategies I'd try towards projects and it was interesting being so motivated for it. I remember the re-vamps the community had, the time where Christmas updates were the best times ever. Every little bit about Mc-Market had me checking it constantly, and I'll miss it. It'll always be a memory within my mind, and unfortunately I've grown a little from the site itself. But, I will miss this place.

I think people take for granted what they have until it's lost. Hell, the only thing connecting me between Choo is this website. If Mc-Market were to close, the thousands of memories and interactions would be lost. Friends I'd never see again, or connect with because lost contact. Everything, gone. I thank Mick for providing us a place to be away from reality.

MC-Market has always been this place everyone would come to just to see each other around the site, I think that removing the sales of accounts a lot of the toxicity fades away with it and welcomes more the business side of Minecraft than really the reselling vibes. It's still fun seeing all the accounts around and dealing with them but the toxicity and competition just take over.

I guess we'll see what happens with Xenforo 2.0, Mick stated he is going to look into marketing more than just word of mouth, hopefully, that will increase the number of members joining and boost activity on here.

Altogether, it is just an amazing community to be a part of, and totally don't think this is the downfall of mcm, it's just the beginning of something new.

we'll see if we can get a revival of sorts when hytale comes out, I still think that has a lot of potential but, ya can't ignore all the faults and issues people have issued above, especially stupid things like people getting sheltered in shout box, ***THREE*** year bans, etc. there's a lot of core issues that Mick needs to solve for it to thrive, it's not just the advertisement, it's the core of the site AKA rules, staff, etc.

Don't get me wrong I love MCM(check my profile, one of the oldest members here despite my extremely low rep) but, it isn't what it used to be and I see no efforts in actually improving the site and it's core issues(it "dying" is but just a small one which if the core issues aren't fixed those newly advertised users might just leave before giving it a shot.)
