TL;DR - Something needs to be done to loans so that scams won't happen as frequently. I just give my suggestions for this
Sure I'm not the only one to say this, but the loans section is an outright fail and scam prone section on the forums. Takes up a large amount of the active scam reports and is a failure mainly due to the fact that on this site you don't have any bound liability. That's why you see kids take out large loans and dip. I have a few suggestions to stop this bullshit
1. Impose a lending limit
A lending limit would heavily help the amounts of massive loans going around. To set the max amount of money you can loan would heavily decrease the amount of scams going around for high loan exit scams. I would personally set a limit of $250 because this is a minecraft forum, not a bank
2. Moderate the forum heavier
Put certain staff to the role of being dedicated to that forum. These new mods are really good, put them to work.
3. Restrict PayPal loans to users 18 or above
Quite simple that many of us use paypal when we aren't exactly supposed to. Most loans are via PayPal. This has a number of cons, one being that since most users are not 18 this would effectively cut out the legitimate loaners that aren't 18, but a massive pro is that most people that are 18 are mature enough to not chargeback as frequently as say a 12 or 13 year old.
3. Outright remove Loans from the section
Many people will get offended and will oppose this but this has a insanely huge pro: WAY less scams.
Feel free to offer your own suggestions, these are just some of mine. These are all subjective, but what's objective is that this section not being handled well
