I know that you guys don't want people advertising and stuff but isn't this a little too protective?
I seriously don't like the fact that our PMs are being monitored by several services.

I mean if you have confidence in this market, you shouldn't even have to worry about competitors... but this?... this is going overboard. Please remove it.

And before you ramble on with your "protection" stuff...
This filter doesn't even work: (can be bypassed)

I can bypass this filter just by hyperlinking it through using the XenForo Panel...

Having a "global" filter is stupid.

If you want to do something like this, you should have a blacklist to filter out words particular to the blacklist itself, not ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. It causes a huge inconvenience when sellers try to link buyers to offsite resources.

hm, I see. still weird that it's blocking. I guess it's to prevent people spamming private messages as advertisement, but I too am curious to the extent of this.

This is incorrect, all data is private to us and remains within our database which is heavily secured.

This has nothing to do with advertising. It's more a security thing than anything else.

We don't block content if it includes advertising, we just replace the advertised URL/word with our own forum URL.

Also, from the public eye, replacing URLs with your own seems pretty "advertisement superficial" to me...
I honestly doubt that you need to do that. There isn't a riot going on right now at least... that feature should've been temporary.

Also, there's rules for a reason, a reason to ban a user. I don't think a filter is necessary when a warning can be manually applied.

You're incorrect in your OP. This doesn't block URL's for no reason. If it considers you a malicious user, it'll be a bit more sensitive.
