What is EnchantsMC? it is a server on the very known block game we all know and love, Minecraft. The main gamemode is custom factions however they are releasing a new world, skyblock ! It will be back up and open to public on Saturday. Server is always looking for new players to make this a better community. Hope to see you all soon

Well from what i understand, once you purchase staff it is much of a trial. You have limited power and other staff members work with you to get a better idea of how to be a proper staff member. As time progresses and you do well you then get full permissions and are a full fledged administrator. Also there is a pro and con for selling staff, for one it shows loyalty and dedication from the player who spent so much. The con is that the player probably has no experience and might abuse for players however that risk the removal of their rank which is something the person wouldn't want if they spent so much so they would refrain from it. Also if they proceed with abuse they would be demoted and punished for it.

I mean, one of my good friends who I referenced here bought Helper, and has been Helper for months, and has not been promoted or anything. Redbeast2, Gertius, or Beadle should be the one to answer any questions about the server with selling staff or anything related to the network

And that justifies handing out staff ranks for a bit of extra profit? You are guaranteed to have extreme issues with problematic people who throw money at you for Admin if you omit an application process by allowing this bypass. Trial or not, people who do not understand the principles and virtues of holding a staff rank will come along, and they will come often enough for it to be a headache. Besides that, this is quite comparable to simony, or the act of selling official church positions for money in medieval days: you are selling power for profit, and it's wrong. There's a reason no one else does this.

Further supporting my comparison to Simony, you list 'authority over other players' as a perk. This server, which you do not likely officially represent, is selling the ability to have direct power over other players who cannot afford such a rank.

The best way, which has been selected by a majority of < 90% of servers, is to use a vetted application process that asks intimate and meaningful questions to screen an applicant's personality and beliefs; this ultimately tells the judges of the application and staff team every bit of information they need to move on to a verbal interview or deny them outright. Allowing a bypass to this is insanity and will cause corruption quickly.

Well theres that and also i want there to be more players on here to play with. Majority of community is good but like every community there is something wrong as no one is perfect and also i feel like by having new players, somehow in near future one of the people could end up getting staff or doing something big and changing server.[DOUBLEPOST=1519430061][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well there isn't many servers that have the system of buying staff for one and out of them, i may be wrong when i say this but the chances of someone buying staff for a decent-huge cost starting to screw up server is unlikely. For one they would be given limited power for precaution hopefully. No offense but this server is literal garbage. They went and bought a folder with all the plugins that CosmicPvP has and gets money off of it. This is a sham and a waste of time. A server is supposed to be unique, not a literal copy.

fair point but they do not deny that the ideas and design is off of cosmic however they didnt just steal the files as it wasnt released by Cosmic but rather gotten off from people who coded plugins to replicate that of Cosmic's. The server's old name was cosmicpvptest and is still known to be a cosmic pvp test server and if people want to donate then that is their option. At this point and time making unique factions that do well is pretty hard. For one having the resources and second ideas that work really well but in the end a unique server would be nicer.

Many servers are built to be copies of other servers.
Also, they did not buy a folder with every plugin that CosmicPvP had. Some of them were public plugins, some of them were custom, but the original CosmicPvP never sold or released their plugins.

I do morally agree with you about how a server should be unique and not a copy - that does not mean it can't be executed
