I remember my first warning (I think my first) was from selling Spotify accounts. Got warned for objectionable content.

What is objectionable content?
The rules state: "Do not sell/promote ebooks, methods, media encouraging black-hat/money making activities or other objectionable content." This includes:
  • Cracked accounts
  • Ebooks
  • Methods
  • Black Hat Activities (Cracking accounts)
  • Money Making Methods
  • (Pretty much anything you'd find on black hat forums).

Why should this rule be enforced better?

The 'Other Products' forum is literally flooded with Selling threads: Selling Optifine Capes (Obviously cracked. If they were obtained legit, you'd be losing money.), Selling Spotify Upgrades (Typically cracked Family Accounts), Selling limited PayPal accounts (These aren't black hat related, but it requires black hat methods to get the funds to your bank), and the list goes on.

It doesn't require rocket science to see what is legit and what isn't. And yet, these threads aren't deleted:

Here's a thread from 2017, still up.

I know what all the Staff will say in regards to this:
"Report threads or messages you want deleted."

Thanks for the help! Because reporting prevents threads from being opened in the first place. No, I think we should attempt to make it known that threads like these aren't allowed.
I'm suggesting something as simple as a notice on the 'Other Products' forum:

Can be closed out, and wouldn't be in the way of any user, yet- still informs users that selling those type of items is not allowed.
Thanks for reading,
Landon

(I expect this to get denied for the main reason of: Report if you want them deleted, but worth a shot.)

If you agree, https://usetheagreebutton.com.
If you disagree, state why.

Honestly if you want to go that far most (minecraft) accounts on this site are cracked
eg: Sniping og names and selling semi's and og's
It's highly unlikely that someone actually paid $30 unless it's their main account. That's just how it is.

I agree with Xanarchy , as much as I want this to be enforced you might as well just shut down the site if it is.

Mine is targetting the 'Other Products' forum specifically, I'm not going to get into the Account market.
But, on the topic of that (and will only say this once, to prevent the thread from getting off-topic), I would say less then 10% of the accounts being sold on the Account Market are cracked. (This significantly changes for Social Media accounts such as Instagram). But, it's much harder to identity a cracked social media account compared to Spotify Upgrades logically. No one will sell a product for less then what they are getting it for.

Like you I don't want this to be a debate about cracked accounts so I will drop it here, however I just want to remind you unmigs are also cracked accounts, even if they have not been used in 5 years.

Nearly all the semis in the semi section being sold for under $20 are from cracked accounts. I'd say those alone account for 10% of all accounts on the market, the cape accounts also have a lot of cracked accounts and a majority of pre-name OGs are also cracked.

You're really not able to enforce it. How would someone prove it's not cracked. Might aswell make it so every OG has to come with a TID since that's the only way to know it's not cracked.

You guys are missing my suggestion. This suggestion isn't in regards to cape accounts, ogs, etc. I specifically said 'other products' subforum (Spotify accounts, Netflix accounts, Optifine capes, PayPal accounts, etc).

My suggestion is for rule 5.6: "Marketplace and Service Rules"
Do not sell/promote ebooks, methods, media encouraging black-hat/money making activities or other objectionable content.

You guys are discussing rule 8.2: "Minecraft Account Rules"
Do not offer or encourage the purchase/sale/distribution of any unmigrated, cracked, stolen, or non-full access accounts.

All the points about Minecraft accounts being cracked are valid, but they don't pertain to rule 5.6.

Thanks.

I think they should allow selling ufa's here if they aren't going to regulate the "Other products" as it's unfair for the ones who are actually here for the mc marketplace... otherwise it's hypocritical.

We're definitely cracking down (heh..) on enforcing this and have written a section in our previous announcement regarding it:

Cracked Streaming and Subscription Services
Rule 5.4 already covers the sale of content which you do not own or have the right to redistribute, however, we are extending the explanation of this into rule 5.4.2. This new sub-rule explicitly forbids the sale of any cracked content, stolen content, or content containing personal information.

While it is not always possible to determine whether or not particular accounts being sold were obtained through cracking/theft, certain genuinely purchased accounts provide no profit to the seller if sold, and can be assumed to have been obtained through illegitimate means. MC-Market's staff team will be removing all Netflix, Spotify, and VPN account sale threads with this in mind.

I'll move this to accepted, thank you :)
