My name is Colin, and some of you might remember me from a server-related post a few months back. That's still happening, but I'd like to build up a little capital to invest into the server's custom plugins and hosting before its release. So, I've decided to offer my editing services to the community.
Q: Why You?
First off, I'd like to establish why I'm a good choice for this role. I'm still a college-goer, I'm afraid, so you won't be getting professional industry credentials out of me, but I can guarantee you high-quality services that'll be near exact to the best the professional aspects of the industry could ever offer. I've been writing both fiction and non-fiction since I was six-years-old (now sitting at the ripe old age of 20), and while my quality of writing has noticeably improved in that time, my love for the craft has never waned. (Quick Edit: I also feel it's worth noting that I'm currently attending college for a Major in English.)
Q: Oh God... Why Minecraft?!
Frankly, this is something that the Minecraft community desperately needs. Every other server advertisement is trying to sell you a "hole new!" Factions server in disjointed English with promises of McMMO and "fair donater ranx." The purposes of my services are to improve clarity, so the communication that happens between server administration and their community through forum posts and announcements is as clear as can be. Nothing screams unprofessional like a grammatically-desiccated server announcement.
Q: Can You Prove It? (Free Services Outlined Here)
At the time of writing this (12/10/17), I have yet to provide an example of my service -- and that's because I haven't edited anything for the fine community of MC-Market yet. With that being said, I'd like to offer free editing of passages up to 500 words for the next couple of days, until I've built up enough rep to prove that my services are worth it.
Q: Why Bother Hiring Someone For This?
My editing doesn't just entail snide grammatical corrections that you could get for free in a YouTube comment section. I'll not only fix grammatical and punctuation errors, but also re-word and re-write sections of your writing to get the original point and context of the words across in the most clear, easy to understand way possible. My editing will transform the wording of your original passage into something that still conveys the same meaning, but is far easier to understand (and frankly, for us English snobs, it's easier on the eyes).
