I have had a Survival Multiplayer Server for a while and I am in the middle of setting up a donor shop.
I really like the idea of my server conforming to a HermitCraft-type Play2Win style. For years I have singlehandedly funded the server but due to recent financial losses I have had to resort to doing a donor shop. In the spirit of keeping with the Play2Win style and Eula, I have decided to sell only trails, tags and perks like /hat, skull and the like. But there are a few thing I’m not sure on.
- 1. I sell virtual currency “credits”. Now, I know that selling virtual currency in an online store is probably against Eula but in my case, this currency can ONLY be spent on cosmetics. The server uses physical diamonds as a currency as well, not virtual currency and there is no way to “buy” diamonds or any other physical items in the cosmetic store. So is this an probem for Eula?
- 2. I sell server-wide mcmmo xp boosts. Meaning one person buys an xp boost which anyone and everyone on the server benefits from the boost. Even if they were not online when the boost was bought. I know that personal boosts are not Eula compliant but what about these? And all boosts expire in 3 hours of being bought. Is this a problem for Eula?
- 3. It’s a running joke on my server that half the players are planning to “overthrow” me due to the fact that I’m kinda a trolly kind of owner (summoning creepers with 10000 second fuse timers to chase players around or effecting players with random levitation or something like that). If I was to have a section in the shop that is devoted to “getting me back” would that be a problem? And by this I mean a player can donate to have a certain command run against myself as the owner. Because I play on the server as a legit player this could be a hassle for me but could be worth it for the donations. Ideas for things in this section is to randomly teleport me 10000 blocks away or to smite me several times with lightning or even put a Curse of Binding Pig’s Head on my head. Would this be a problem for Eula?
Let me know what you all think. Cheers
