Exit Scammers

Hello Mc-Market,

I am writing today to alert you of an incredibly sad topic. Exit scamming/scammers. Recently the amount of exit scammers have picked up not only on mc-market but on many other forums as well. Exit scamming is a term used for people who don't care to get caught, will scam an amount suitable to them to relinquish themselves from the minecraft world. Most do it when they are almost done with minecraft, the forums site, or in general the job they are currently doing. It does not matter how big or small their reputation is, if the price is right, they do it.

Im here to warn and raise awareness of this foulness this has been lurking around all of us. Be more careful when you do deals as well as think of backup plans. Exit scammers are out there. Not only have I been exit scammed but countless others as well.

Eh hopefully the amount of them will go down soon.

It will only increase as users keep getting drawn by convincing scammers and don't do prior research. I feel instead of focusing efforts on scam reports, we should trash that and focus on creating a system of notifying potential victims of known or suspected scammers that enter these forums.

I know lol. I made the "scammer account list" to try and help and prevent scams xD. Hopefully, the new trading system (I think?) they are adding will help prevent scams or make it far harder.

I have an idea, though most would probably hate it here knowing my past ideas have never flew with flying colors. HMU with ur skype in pm and i'll share u it

How about instead of notifying people of "known or suspected scammers" (the suspected part is really dangerous, scam reports exist to figure out who the real scammer is), we try to warn people more about how to detect scammers and avoid them?
Both me and chucK_ have anti-scamming guides that would reduce the amount of scams by a lot.

I check the scam report section regularly, and I can say that if everyone followed my advice and that of kenneth, the amount of scams (and therefore scam reports) would be cut in half at least. if they used common sense as well, it'd be down to a third or less.

The worst part is when reputable members abuse their power to do this. Like Fox_, Sentinel, Jurhed etc.

Well since more new people are joining mcm and lowballing af soon there wont be a need for exit scams since the valued price of everything will be around $2.

It is incredibly sad. I for one, would never be able to pull of an exit scam because I would feel terrible and in my time on here I've never even considered it, this is a hilarious community that's really enjoyable and I appreciate that I'm able to be a part of it as it's really helped me in some ways, even if it is just literally a mc-market. I think the people who exit scammed just felt like they needed money and weren't willing to work for it, or felt like the market had lost that spark that kept it ahead of other competitor sites. All users nowadays need to be careful who they deal with, low and high rep alike as they both are just as capable of scamming. Thanks for the thread, should help those who weren't already aware of this 'crisis'.

agreed. I don't even want to consider pulling an exit scam, even if it would get me enough in one go to buy a high-end gaming setup. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
I've already decided what my exit will be, even if I have no idea when I will do it.

Bruceiro exit scammed me. I know how it feels to get scammed, what do I want? Revenge. But when I come to it, I don't want anyone feeling as bad as I am rn, just because of a block game. #SpreadCancerAwareness
