Hi, everyone! My name is Chris and I'm an 18 year old college student from the UK looking to gain more experience in the staffing field.
About me:
As I've said above ^, I'm a college student from the UK. I'm currently studying Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) with the aspiration of some day (hopefully) going into the industry as either a performer or writer.
I love to entertain others, make people laugh and overall just enjoy myself. Making others happy makes me happy, as cheesy as that sounds. I also love to go out and socialize every once in a while (usually to parties that I regret going to in the coming morning), and also enjoy a variety of other activities such as gaming, writing and playing casual football.
I absolutely love to have a laugh every once in a while.
Anyway, to keep this thing short, let's move on!
Previous experience:
Duration: August 2014 - October 2015 (roughly)
Position: Moderator & Reviewer (from Helper & Mentor)
Key Responsibilities:
(As moderator)
I have, of course, been staff on a few other servers, but they were small and some died pretty quickly. I've decided to only list Desteria as it's my proudest accomplishment.
If you require any proof, I could get some vouches or even screenshots
Why choose me?:
Honestly, I can get the job done, and I can do it pretty damn well. When it comes to staffing, I believe there's a very distinct attitude and set of skills one should have.
First and foremost, I can keep a cool head under pressure. Staff need to be able to deal with all the crap in the world being thrown at them at once. I've been there and it's safe to say it isn't for the short-tempered. My time on Desteria has gotten me use to the hate (although the majority of the time hate was minimal - others haven't been so lucky).
Second, I have found a fine line between strictness and leniency - which has in turn led me to become a successful, respectable staff member. I've met almost every type of player on Desteria, and it's safe to say I have a way to get through to the most - if not all - of them, without having them start a giant crapstorm.
I've also learned the key to staffing is respect. It's as easy as 1+1. If you respect the players, they'll do the same to you (most of the time, there's always that one....). What most people don't understand is, they think that just because they're staff and they have power, that they don't have to even talk to other players. This is stupid. Interaction is key. If you make friends with the players, they'll listen to you, respect you and even idolize you. I've had it happen.
Lastly (to keep this short), I can have a laugh! No one likes a staff member who is there to simply enforce rules. Players need staff they can talk to - it can even make their day! This is what most people seem to forget. It's OK to joke about when appropriate, in fact it's more than welcome!
What I'm looking for:
(Position-wise)
Although this is an advertisement for a Helper/Mod/Admin position, I would love to train as a management role. This could include (but of course wouldn't be limited to) Staff Manager, Community Manager, General Manager, Admin(istrator), or a Public Relations role. I would of course be happy to work my way up there, I just ask for a shot, and something that will challenge me.
(Owner-wise)
The main things I'm looking for in the owner is a level-head, determination, motivation and perseverance. I don't want to join a server that's going to die in a month due to lack of care. If you are willing to go the extra mile to make your server thrive, I want to help you along the way.
(Pay-wise)
I definitelydon't expect anything pay-wise, though you could if you want.
If you have any questions or would like to get in contact with me, feel free to reply here or PM me.
Thank you for reading!

Desteria
Player-base: (player-base can range from 500-2500 (depending on the season and school breaks)Duration: August 2014 - October 2015 (roughly)
Position: Moderator & Reviewer (from Helper & Mentor)
Key Responsibilities:
(As moderator)
- Doing my utmost best to answer questions members of the community had
- Making sure chat was kept clean and friendly. A healthy chat is a healthy gaming experience!
- Interacting with the community to make sure player-staff relations were kept above par
- Issuing kicks and bans (as lower staff ranks didn't have the commands)
- Tackling social situations quickly, efficiently and as peacefully as possible
- Overseeing the lower staff and guiding them to become the best they could be
- Being the face for the server
- Making sure the community were enjoying themselves! Nothing is more important.
- Using my best judgment to accept/deny reports and appeals with evidence to back it up
- Getting the opinions of other reviewers in situations where I needed a new set of eyes
- Issuing realm-wide bans to players using illegal clients and/or breaking any other ban-worthy rule
