Explain to me a "vouch"

Hi so I have been hearing the word vouch and I have been wondering what it meant, does it mean voucher?? Correct me if I'm wrong

I'm fairly certain it just means like you recommend their service or product, or you're just confirming that they did good service or are a generally nice person to work with. However, I'm not sure what a VC (vouch copy) is yet... I see people offering them all the time.
