Out of my own curiosity and because I'm nosy I hover over the scam reports section from time to time.

The system for the claiment or the person being accused to reply to is too short. An example is this thread (bear in mind it seems to be an open and shut case, but seems to serve a good example): https://www.mc-market.org/threads/610451/#post-4627581

The scam reports section is weeks behind and is overfilled with work and the scam resolving system doesn't give enough time to let either side defend themselves if they are innocent (to argument, if either side is guilty then there'll be enough evidence to make a judgement without a time trial).

Once the scam reports are more up-to-date with a database then it's completely reasonable to give two-days timeframe if the scam report warrants a reply.

48 hours is enough; if they get banned they can always create an SR Restricted account and appeal it

Completely disagree with this suggestion, 48 hours is more than enough time to prove your innocence, if you're in need of extra time, that's probably because you're thinking of ways to cover something up or manipulate something you had said, or done.
I see both sides, but my main point is with a system with so many scam reports at the back of the store, they get passed through the checking system much later than it should be: thread created on the 10th, scam report opened to viewing by reply on the 29th. More than two weeks after.

48 hours is enough if the system wasn't so backed up but hardly doesn't give users enough time to check emails, the site in general, etc because of jobs or life commitments at this current stage.

It already takes like a month for your scam report to get picked up by a resolver. I think this suggestion is unnecessary.

If you're doing something that would instance a scam report being opened, then of course you'll be checking your emails. You'll be seeing if you're gonna get caught or not for what you did. I believe that 48 hours is enough because of a scam report that'll already be on top of you for a month long. A better suggestion would be; if you're involved in the scam report as the "scammer", you should be able to view the scam report before it goes public; but then again that's redundant. The system is fine how it is.. Just don't scam anyone.. facepalm:whistle:

Disagree. Last scam report I had ended up taking around 6 months and costed multiple people to lose hundreds of dollars. It's bad enough already please don't make it worse.

Why would this make it worse?

What? Did you not just say that;
Nothing will happen if no conclusive evidence is found of you scamming. You pretty much contradicted yourself on that one buddy..

You can enable email notifications for anything/everything related on this website. You should check that out before complaining about having to log into the website directly to check information. Whenever I left the site for quite some time I still had my email notifications setup so if anything critical happened; I'd see it and respond. Pretty sure checking your email in 2020 is typically the same, or more important as walking outside every day to collect your physical mail. But I don't know, you're probably not old enough to get your own mail so you wouldn't know

Also; they do give you plenty of time to respond. Staff even go out of their way to attempt to reach you through email. Would you rather a system that you give them your phone number and good ol' Mick can call you up and say his staff are trying to contact you and to get back onto mc-market?

This whole situation is wrong on many levels.. If you say; "Hey, I'm going through something with my family can you give me some extra allotted time to figure things out", I guarantee they'll have some lenience with that. A small extension or something else. They're not monsters, they understand if shit happens it happens, but that doesn't mean you can push it a week back. Also; I think you're forgetting about the whole appeal function.. There have been people who have been banned and they come back and appeal it and everything's golden..

Did something like this happen to you? This has never really been a problem..

But yeah, here's the link for the notifications.. https://www.mc-market.org/account/alert-preferences

Also; before you make abrupt comments such as saying what I say is just stupid; you should at least put some thought into your replies.. just saying..

Yours Truly, Ted

HELL NO. this would make scamming easier for them (being on site for longer) + 48 hours is way more more then enough.

Just to clarify a user usually gets 6 days to respond. The first message is the (User) what do you have to say about this scam report against you. An email is sent out as well!

2 Days pass.

Then they get the (User) - Your response is required.

2 Days Pass.

Last but not least they get the (User) - You have 48 hours to respond. (An email is sent out)

6 days is enough in my opinion for a user to reply to a scam report.

I agree. With us giving 6 days and also sending an email to the user I feel like we give more than enough lenience.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
