Extreme TPS drops during base watering

I currently run a factions server, and am having issues with base watering causing
TPS drops.

When players on my server water a base the standard
way, via trays and tray picks ( aka , water the entire base extremely
quickly ) it causes HUGE tps drops, down to as low as 4-7 TPS.

The server is running on a dedi that should be more than powerful enough to handle the relatively small player base & watering a base, yet it seems
something is unoptimized.

For refrence, currently I'm running on a
Intel Xeon E3 1245 V2 with 32GB DDR3

Anyone aware of how I can help resolve this issue perhaps?

Hello sleepingnight,

The typical solution for this is to limit the # of water physics events that can process in a given tick, and to queue the remainder to occur over the next couple of ticks.

What version of spigot/bukkit are you using? Some of these have built in configurable options for this exact problem.
