Hello MC-Market!

I'd really love your opinions on this...

Does a Factions-Only server NEED to have an F-TOP that pays out weekly in order to be a successful server?

Thanks for your feedback!

Hey! Well at this time I’d say it does boost your server, BUT no! If you hire a bunch (or just one big YouTuber) right advertising is the key to success, if you do that you are golden. Sadly the factions community has become a bunch of money whores, and every new server has f top payouts. People don’t know what a good server is Anymore, they are all out for the money and all the players that enjoyed factions when it was still good have left. (Including me) Good luck

Its a shame that its seen as necessary now but if you aren't saico then its a bit tricky. A lot of small servers feel pressured to put out a big number to draw people in then pay 50%+ in store vouchers, but then theres places like universemc where anon pays tiny prizes and does alright out of your average player but is avoided by larger factions simply for his tiny payouts, tho that might change once he's changed his jar. If you're a first map server go for plugins and a high quality server over payout 100%, theres just too many servers who try and compete with big numbers, so I'd say use that money and get some hq shit that makes you stand out.

No, but you just have to get your name out there and make it obvious what separates you from the rest. There are many, many factions servers out there, some small some big and successful, but they are there. Think of it like this:
Why should players go to your server?
What separates you from the others?

Most players nowadays love custom plugins. That's the main thing that attracts new players as plugins bring fantastic new resources or quests, or you have many custom plugins, and there's something that everyone will enjoy. If you are extremely rich, and want to create a server, you could even go as far as make every single plugin custom, but I doubt anybody will do that xD

By creating items and new features, you engage players and they think oooh! Look at this thingy! I want it!. Then you gain an audience and people who subscribe/enjoy your server.

Personally, I like it when servers have custom plugins that allow you to go on quests or find items with GUIs or NPCs. I love those and I even create many plugins like this for my customers. A custom crates plugin, *wink wink*, for example, can help you achieve lots of things and adds much more customisability than free resources you may find online. It also shows that the server is quite a good one as users can easily go online and search up crates plugin and they can find similarities between the one you run and the one online and they find you out.

Anyway, I wish your server the best of luck Rolson and I hope to see it succeed! I hope my tips were beneficial and help you in the creation of your server :D

anon has also had a lot of help from me for advertisements, and with his size of a playerbase it pays for itself
Yeah he runs a solid setup, but people are really waiting on that jar change

Thanks for that Dark! ;)

I'm really considering not having an F TOP. My factions server is bringing many custom plugins to the floor like: Dungeons, Crate Drops, PvPUtilities, Advanced PvP, and building utilities. But I'm not sure how to compete/advertise with all these other servers. The main attraction that I'm hearing is MONEY. But IDK. Shed more opinions guys :)
