Factions Server?

Had a quick question are faction servers worth starting up anymore?

A server's always worth starting up if you feel you can provide something unique. As well as your current financial situation, do you NEED donations, or are they a bonus, etc.

Personally coming from a player & retired staff member's perspective, I've seen a lot of servers removing their factions realms, now I don't want to blatantly just say no as I've seen a bunch of small servers hit it off good with faction realms. but I agree with most people that a change would be cool to update the server gameplay with something new. If you feel if you have a good faction realm idea I'd say go for it! I love seeing what people are able to create and share with everyone!

Think back to what made them so popular 3-4-5 years ago, go from there. Do not follow this modern faction approach, it will lead you no where 99% of the time.

The whole reason why some servers remove factions and many others die is because, for the last few years it has been attracting the wrong audience. It is IMPOSSIBLE for new players to have a chance as even before they join, they are at a major disadvantage as all the "bigger" factions have already been given "care-packages" so to say.
