Hello!

I use worldguard and factions w/MassiveCore and obviously a few other plugins on my server.

I am having a little issue as I want to claim the spawn as safezone, the spawn is drop to down so therefore I want want the who thing claimed. Only the floating region as safezone. How can this be done?

I personally don't even use safe zone. You can do this all with warzone and worldguad. You want to make sure that you claim the full spawn with worldguard naming the region "spawn" or whatever you want. Make sure pvp is disabled and everything else you want to tune. Then go to /spawn and set up the warzone just like how you normally would. Then everything works perfectly. If you use a floating spawn go a few blocks under the spawn and select that point (don't go to the floor), then go on the opposite side and select the highest point which both fit the whole spawn set the region and your good. It's very confusing.
