Scream is literally an anti horror horror movie and I love it so much. I like classics such as Nightmare On Elm Street and New Nightmare, its only good sequel. Terror train is decent if you're into slashers.
From the new ones, I like the new IT, Us, Get Out, Hereditary, etc. Both Conjuring films are also decent, and the first Sinister and Insidious films are okay.

Never used to be into the horror genre but watched A Quiet Place (because Jim from The Office) and really enjoyed it.
Recently read the synopsis for the Human Centipede movies on Wikipedia and reading it was enough for me honestly.

I'm not much of a fan of the horror genre, honestly. That said, I've really enjoyed a lot of the movies listed here. Us, Get Out, and A Quiet Place were wonderful these past few years. I'm now interested in watching Hereditary too.
My personal favorite of all time would have to go to the 2017 remake of "It." That film did way too much perfectly. The actors were amazing, the comedy on point, and the overall mood of Derry felt surreal. And while some friends said that it was JUST funny, I found a lot of Pennywise's scenes to be pretty disturbing. My only issue with the film was the ending, but I didn't mind because I knew there would be a sequel. Part 2 wasn't bad, per-say, but it was disappointing. Still a good film, but it was up against Part 1. The ending was a lot worse than the first one, and this is THE ending, so I just didn't feel the closure I wanted.

IT: Chapter 2 was alright to me. They could improve, but they did alright.

I’m most bummed that we didn’t get to see Maturin make an appearance in either film. No turtle love.
Imagine if instead of just calling Pennywise names, the loser club all met Maturin in an out-of-body experience, and then pointed out how much better he is compared to IT. He probably already feels insecure about being a weak clown while his brother spits out universes. They could have broken him by using that against him, and it would have felt so legit. The insults they actually used made no sense.
