Hello MCM!
It came apparent to me that these days there is a huge difference between BIG servers and the little ones. There is a very small gap, if a gap at all, between the player base of huge servers and smaller servers. What is it you like about a server? What game-modes attract you to a server?

I am bringing a new feature to op prison servers called Bomb Mobs. Which will be very configurable.[DOUBLEPOST=1481214107][/DOUBLEPOST]
Well, unique ideas are key. There's no point just creating the same gamemode as someone else unless you bring something new to the table. Try to think of some new ideas which will get people interested.

Yes, it's called post farming. The agree reaction is there for a reason, use it.
I did:). I think Favorite server gamemode depends on the persons opinion.

What sort of minigames, this really doesn't help.
im just one person bruh i dont speak for all players. Look at the big servers they have tons of players vs the prison servers or servers with factions,prison,creative bullshit

What usually attracts me to servers are three things:
1. Unique & Creative Ideas
2. Vanilla Gamemodes
3. Player Base

I'm not a fan of all the OP gamemodes such as OP Prison, OP Factions and the like. Unfortantely, they usually attract the majority of the playerbase so I tend (used to) play those gamemodes. What I really like are gamemodes such as HCF. They reqiure a fair amount of time, effort and in the end, you feel a sense of accomplishment instead of being given a god like pickaxe or whatever it may be straight away.

It's way over the top and I don't see how people enjoy it. You literally feel 0 sense of accomplishment (well at least for me) but keep in mind at the end of the day it comes down to your players. You will have a more successful server if you have the right gamemode which targets the majority.

What would you class as 'op'? High balances? OP Items?

Mainly items - Pickaxes, Swords, Armor. You name it, pretty much everything also including money balances. It just doesn't seem realistic to me.

I like all types of servers, but these points are the most important for me:
  • There's a good community.
  • The staff shows true dedication to the server.
  • The server is not "money-hungry" (like mineplex is hungry for money with their sales).
  • Unique and room for creativity.
