Heyyy!

So, I'm after some feedback on some WIP music I have written and recorded for a game concept. There are only two tracks (now three) at the minute, but I plan on going at it further over time.
The concept is that you're in a hot air balloon and exploring the terrain and face missions and challenges on the way (such as the weather ;))

It isn't a real game, but I just find it helps to have a backstory when composing stuff like this.

Feedback good or bad, please send it my way. Always helps to improve!

Thanks!

Just had a listen, love them both, especially the first one :)

Was able to listen to all 5 minutes of the playlist without finding it repetitive ;)

Edit: I mean without!!

Haha, thanks.
You found it repetitive? I mean, it's built on themes as most music for this sorta stuff is. The themes are developed and built upon though. That's what I aimed for.

Love the second track!
At 1:40 the drums in the first track are a bit too messy and too sudden. But besides that a very nice track!

Thanks! Glad you like :)

The sound at 1:40 is actually thunder. It's what I imagine would happen at that point in the game. Sudden was intentional ;)

I love it, i reminds me of a show I watched when I was child. Brought me back to my childhood oddly enough. <3 Amazing song, gave me a bit of nostalgia.

Based on like, very generic music theory, I think the songs being in the minor scale would be somewhat uncomfortable for someone trying to start a game. The songs are very good though!
Glad you like them.

I'm curious - which track was in a Minor scale?
The first track did have a few minor chords in there (and the insertion of the C Minor at the end for purposeful heightened tension), but only as passing chords.

The first theme in the second track consists of F# and B Minor. Is this what you're referencing? I was going for something very expressive as I imagine this track to be when you're flying over some beautiful terrain. When the second theme comes in (consisting of B Major and C Major) there is a reason for the suspense. Perhaps a storm, or some unexpected weather conditions.
The final section of the track is the theme from the first song to help conclude and re-inforce the "Major" tonality.

Just wondered if you'd care to share a little more.

Hey twinightcreep0 !! Very Creative Work. I loved the 1st track more than the 2nd 1. Try to add a bit of electric guiter work for future tracks when the hot air baloon runs into bad weather to add a bit of suspense.

Your tracks reminded me of the Android Mobile Game Swordigo. I really enjoyed a track there. I am sharing below. I am sure you will love it too.

Glad you like the tracks, thanks for your comments!

I was trying to keep the instruments all acoustic but the pointer about electric guitar is cool. Thanks :)

And thanks for sharing the track from Swordigo. Certainly did enjoy it :D

I love how dramatic the third one is, yet somehow gives me peaceful Animal Crossing vibes as well! You did a really good job on it :)
