Uhhh, I'd probably go with a colour scheme as opposed to a rainbow with a bunch of white borders around it. Possibly make it a bit more interactive eg; hovering over your past work makes it pop out a bit. A nice site overall though.

Thanks for your feedback! I don't know why I didn't think to make any hover animations for the portfolio section, I'll get on that. I personally like the orange to purple gradient color, but if color scheme gets brought up by more people I'll consider finding a new color scheme.

I agree with Matqx, the colors look cheap and generic. I would go with a simpler color scheme (non-gradient) that uses less saturated colors as to bring out the portfolio items more. Also, I would keep the text (name and tabs) at the top the same font and thickness.

Really good, I agree with the feedback regarding the background colors, also the portfolio zone looks disorganized, images have not the same size, you can try adjusting and making similar size images in a row.
Also, the text can be better using another type of font.
Otherwise these things, the website does look very great!

I'm working on figuring out a way to better organize the portfolio section, and I'm looking into different fonts. Thanks for your feedback it is greatly appreciated.

I think your website is okay, for a web developer, for a web designer I would disagree. Please do not take anything that is said here harshly, I just want to give some honest and hopefully constructive criticism.

I do agree that the colour scheme needs to be worked on, although, gradients are trendy, they are very easily overused and I think unless you are 100% confident in using them, I would shy away. I am not over-experienced by any means, but I did make a few visual changes which kept your gradients but I think made the website a little more accessible from a users point. I will put a screenshot below of the changes I made, I did this just using the inspect element tool and it was rather quick so forgive me for anything I did wrong.

I have kept the gradient on the top nav, I reduced padding in the navigation as it felt a little spaced out for my liking. I changed the background to a dark colour scheme, which again, is a bit of a trend at the moment and also easier on the eyes. I also made the background of the profile card a lighter shade that derives from the background. Therefore, I changed the text colour to white, added a few gradient highlights and I think it improved the design a little. Of course, play around with the colours and do as you see, but I think the site overall does look a little rushed and not as thought out as I would like to see.

I also agree with the highlights on the portfolio section, maybe make the portfolio cards a little smaller too giving some more white space along the sides. I am also not too sure what the element below the portfolio showcase is meant to represent so maybe for first time users you could make that a little more clear.

Again, take everything I have said with a grain of salt as design is a lot of personal preference. I will attach gyazo links of the few changes I made. Let me know what you think :)

Also: the element I was unsure about - https://gyazo.com/dbb86a7490b1a08e690a863f27c05578

Thank you for taking the time to do that, I really appreciate it. I liked the dark color scheme you used in the Gyazo screenshot you sent. I might do a dark and a light version and create a toggle, I think that would be nice.

I'm still messing with the design of the portfolio section, and I will take everything said above into consideration for that.

With all this, I'm not very good at design. I'm best at creating websites based off of mockups that were designed by professionals. Do you have any suggestions for improving as a website designer?

UPDATE: I have made some changes to the website using feedback from you guys :)

I’m no where near perfect, but I got better at design in general by learning about colour schemes. Video tutorials on web designs + looking at other people’s work in general helped me understand trends and what people like. Also, reddit!
Ok cool, thanks for the tips! Also, I might be tripping but I'm pretty sure the CM title is new. Congrats man!
