Equality between men and women (at least in the U.S.) has already been achieved. Third wave feminism only seeks to give more rights to women over men. Quite hypocritical honestly, they fight for equality just to turn that equality around on men.

To some degree you are correct, but the feminists you are reffering to are the 3rd wave feminists who deframe men. Although feminism as a whole is about equality and still is, the problem is mainly that 3rd wave are seen as the "face" of feminism since they are always memed, and post radical content.
