Hello, MC-Market Community!
For the past two or three weeks, the COVID-19 virus has been in the center of our media and government(s) attention. The news and our legal system(s) have done a fantastic job of informing the public of different things they can do to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases. Such as washing hands frequently, and staying 6 feet away from others. However, there is so much more you can do to help this battle; especially from a techy perspective.
A program called Folding At Home (FAH, operated by Stanford School of Medicine) has gained more awareness as Linus Tech Tips and others spread the word of their very unique program. Folding@home is a distributed computing project for performing molecular dynamics simulations of protein dynamics. Its initial focus was on protein folding but has shifted to more biomedical problems, such as Alzheimer's disease, cancer, COVID-19, and Ebola.
If you have a spare PC or Laptop laying around at home, you can run their software, and contribute to their research. If you're an LTT fan, be sure to check out his video and use his group code.
