Filter 'bump'

It's really frustrating when you up your thread & there's the one kid who puts 'bump' on his thread directly after. I usually up my threads around 2PM GMT, as that's the sweet spot for most of my buyers. I think it's sort of getting a way around the system, and filters should be put in place for things which are used as an alternative to using the intergrated systems.

It's useless, they can use any word/sentences than bump to make their thread go up. the only way to prevent that to make a minimum reply to 30-50 words and that's something I don't like (like in spigotmc forum)

People intentionally put the word 'bump', & they should just put a filter on it.

bumping your threads with stuff like 'bump' is against the rules, just report them. They'll eventually stack up warning points enough to either learn their lesson or get suspended

and how much would that take so that it's no longer an issue? I think quite a lot since there is quite a few/lot of users that does this...(plus staffs have a life, so ye... Took quite a while to answer me...) I dont think reporting will solve most of the issues is like ''reporting a hacker in game and waiting for a staff but he took a lot to come and he is no longer hacking''

How about adding a new role that doesn't categorize as a staff? People who are active on the forums and watch constantly the threads... Basically asking the community to help if this could be considered a ''community'' where Staffs & Users help each other... I mean within a community you usually help each other, dont you?

What do you propose that 'role' does? tell them to not do it? That's what I always do whenever I see a new or inexperienced member break the bump rule. I don't think we need a special 'role' for that, however. Elevating some users above others (which is what a special 'role' does, no matter its intent) without them actually being staff will create a lot of hassle. It's not something I can put in words without writing an essay on the matter, so I'll spare you that.

Yes, a community should help each other, and telling people to stop bumping their threads with 'bump' and use the 'up thread' button instead is a good way to start. However, for people that don't listen, reporting is a perfect option.
Staff has lives. This is true. I daresay I am the last person you'd need to tell that staff have enough on their plates. However, reporting people that bump their threads illegally is far easier than creating a hassle over it because it's apparently not done enough. Giving someone a verbal warning for something as obvious as illegal bumping takes 30-40 seconds, depending on writing speed. Giving someone actual warning points takes less. It's far easier to deal with than a suggestion like this one.

This suggestion seems aimed at problematic bumping. Having not actually seen the threads in question, I can't say with more accuracy which is the correct option.

However, something that filters out 'bump' and similar words would, as stated by others, not actually solve the problem, while it WOULD make it more difficult for us to tell people what they should be doing in the thread itself.
