First Car

So,
I'm turning 16 in a few months and it's time I decide on a car to drive. Obviously, I'm pretty limited in budget, so I wanna know your thoughts. I have a budget max of $8,000.

I've looked mainly at 2 cars, a 2008 Toyota Camry, and a 2005 Lexus IS 300. Either way I'm planning a $400 budget for a sound upgrade. I'm siding more with the Lexus because it's a drift car (RWD), but at the same time I would rather pay a lower insurance (yes, I gotta pay my own insurance) on the Camry.

What do you guys think? Should I go for the Lexus, or the Camry? Or should I look at some other cars?

They're practically the same car as its from the same manufacturing line. You're paying for a name. Personally I say the RWD car any day because I personally love drifting, but it's a matter of preference. The Lexus is going to ride nicer as usually they put a higher end suspension in them which is great in terms of drifting as you won't feel so much bumpiness.

TL;DR: Same car, Lexus just has a few upgrades.

Depending on where you live, http://www.iseecars.com/used-cars/used-sedans-for-sale-under-8000#id=100221124853 may be a good choice for you. Newer car with under 10k miles on it for 7,500. Not a bad deal.

I'd go with the Camry, I started with a '07 Camry and now have a '16 Camry and it's a really good all-around car and especially good as a starter car

If you have 8k, you can get a lot. I mean you can get a sick older car (70's, 80's) that would be great or if you like newer stuff you can do that as well. There is a lot to choose from.
