So, literally everywhere I go I see a thread with an bid and a bin, but they say that it ends in day... 5 years? This completely gets rid of the purpose of an auction and it seriously needs to be changed. 3 weeks max should be the longest an auction should be, and that is plenty of time. If you want your bin, just put bin only and not have it be years long. Thank you.

I agree except for the fact it'll increase the rates of lowballers

I think this has been suggested, and I hate seeing this I report it every time I see someone do it. Hopefully they make this a rule.

While there should not be a solid end date, I support there being a rule against "excessive" end dates. One of those reports by Tyler was on a thread for something that was, what, $15? maybe $35?. and they had their end date set to more than a year. I set it back to 3 months, which is more than reasonable for times like that.
a year or more is only tolerable for products worth more than $1000. Anything more than that and the value needs to approach the 10K.

I agree with Ivain here.
There should not be a definitive end date.
A rule against excessive end dates is perfect.
This way, we can account for all different auctions, and not limit ourselves to something that might not be a one size fit's all end date.

Personally I think there needs to be an auction addon where you place bids and then it will auto update the bid and notify all people that are being outbidded, aswell as having an anti snipe feature to stop people bidding with a couple seconds to go

Just going to be honest here,

I did feel the same way about this.

But now since I started selling the account "WitherSkeleton" I'm all about someone just binning it. I personally don't have an end date for it. I just want someone to bin it or bin close to it atleast. I've seen accounts open for 3 weeks and never got close to a bin. So I personally disagree on this one. As money is something we all want and need.
If you want that, then say BIN only, no bidding.
Accepting offers.

Then don't make it an auction...

Well a lot of people won't bin it.

That's why whoever has the highest bid and nothing budges for more then a month I guess that's the offer I'll stick with.
yea,
then makes them offers.
Just pick the highest offer your get.

I +1 this. I find it absurd how OG sellers (Or whatever they're selling) put illogical end dates such as "Bidding ends in 3 years, or when I feel like ending it.". If it's Minecraft related, it may not even be worth anything in 3 years as Minecraft may no longer even exist. Same goes for any other game/item really. I say for accounts (Semis/OGs) it should be 1 month max. If its value is above $300-$400 (Value must be approved by someone such as Doge) then it can possibly be extended.

I use to make my auctions last forever
Mainly due to the fact that nobody ever bid an amount I wanted to, but if I put the starting bid closer to an amount I liked, everyone yells "YOUR PRICE IS TOO HIGH!!!!!!!" making a low starting bid also allows more of an auction and gets the thread easier noticed because each bid is a bump. Some people who bid don't even want the product (one of my domains...)
