Fix auto SB ads

Add something to check whether an ad is still largely visible in SB. Part of the reason nons were allowed in chat was to make it more active and "bring our community closer." Being able to see the same ad 5 times without having to scroll just ruins that - it literally brings a new meaning to adbox.

I have nothing against Dan or anyone else who has these ads, but holy shit I don't need to see it 5 times at the same time. At least before it would stop when someone went to sleep, but now it's non stop for 24 hours.

I don't agree with this suggestion and isn't any different to if someone just manually did it as Geek stated. It's been like that since XF1.

The bug that really does need fixing is the auto post sending every 20 minutes. It doesn't, it's random. Unless it's been fixed and I am loosing my mind haha.

It's every 30 minutes (oddly enough).

How is this different than if someone manually advertised though?

And to cover this, like I said before - at least it stopped when they went to sleep or walked away. Obviously, an ordinary isn't going to be awake 24/7 to advertise. They're going to have to walk away to eat, use the bathroom, run errands, etc. With the bot, it is continuous 24/7. It makes having any conversation during quiet hours much worse.

At least when it's an actual person doing it, there would be interruptions & you could politely ask them to stop.

I'm not sure one would stop advertising because you asked them to. Advertising is a chance for them to create a profit. Just because you can see it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be able to increase their chances to create further revenue. Whilst it might be annoying to see the messages numerous times in shout box, I don't think that there's anything wrong with the system that needs "fixed". Increased activity in shout box would solve the issue, however it seems that a lot of people have been hostile lately in shout box and, in my opinion, that pushes lots of people away. I personally try to be active in shoutbox when I'm on to invite users who aren't normally in shout box to come join the conversation, but unfortunately Im not on as much as I used to do during the day as classes have resumed.
