Guys,

I'm here to discuss scam reports, and how they should be changed. First of all, we need a scam resolver in the EST timezone. The only ones we have right now are in the UK. However, that's beside my main point. I think it's absolutely outrageous that we have to wait a week before someone is banned when all the evidence is already laid out against them. Most of the new scammers don't even bother showing themselves on the thread, so why even wait? I also see a lot of scam reports at least 1-1.5 days old without a new reply from a resolver. Scam reports should be solved as soon as possible, not at the scam resolver's convenience. I know that's bashing them, but it's the honest truth.

FIX THEM.

Yours Truly,

Scam reports have been piled up ever since Rocket was moved from compliance officer to moderator, and Anthony removed from staff.
We have since added more staff to our scam reports team, and they have done a wonderful job.
If you look at their history, they've been taking care of dozens on top of dozens of scam reports a day.
If they haven't already, they'll soon catch up with scam reports as they are right now. I have little doubts.

The scam reports system is flawed however, and there are suggestion threads open for discussing that (http://www.mc-market.org/threads/62013/) I do believe change is coming soon.

I don't see why having a scam reports staff in another time zone will be helpful, however.
If they were moderators/admins then absolutely, there should be someone on at all times to help members.
But with the scam reports system as it is, and scam reports staff's only job being scam reports...
They don't have any control over the time zone of the users they're assigned to. So you'd only be increasing your chances of getting a scam reports staff in your time zone, not fixing the problem.
Besides, they all dedicate a lot of time each day to their work, and it's noticeable regardless of their time zone.

At this point, we don't plan on doing much with the scam reports system. If anything, we'll be scrapping it. It's a terrible way of doing things.

We're working our way to incorporate more of a marketplace system, as we feel it should be. The scam reports system as we know it today will be no more once the new system is implemented. Because of that, we don't feel that there's much point into changing how it works or even bringing on more people to do the scam reports, as it won't be necessary in the future.

As Justis said, I feel that the current scam resolvers (M6Gaming and morganjp, in case you didn't know) are doing a wonderful job at keeping those scam reports under control. They've only been on the team for about a week now and they've managed to cut the workload in half so far. I imagine they'll be fully caught up in another week or two.

Why are they getting scrapped?

I'm in the EST timezone.

This thread seems more of promoting yourself for Staff which is not allowed. I'm not in the UK either? Maybe do some background checks or bother asking before posting something with false information.

About scam reports getting delayed, I try my best to get in contact with the user being accused, we need to hear both sides. Obviously, if nothing works and the proof is out there - we will ban them. If there isn't enough, we ask for extra proof then make a decision.

Patience is key. And this promoting yourself thing is just messed up. Just how I view it bud.

a week is a reasonable amount of wait time. lets say someone were to make a scam report on me because they got scammed by someone impersonating me. But I'm out of town for 3 days with no access to internet. So for 3 days I can't respond. If scam reports were to be resolved in less than a week, I'd be banned without having the chance to prove it was an impersonator, not me.
Once you get banned, its very difficult to get unbanned again unless you're lucky enough to know someone that can appeal for you. I hope there will end up being a ban appeal section, as has been suggested, but until that is a thing a week is a very reasonable length of time. Court cases usually take years.
