Fix Scam Reports!

This new system is a joke. For years this site made it simple and easy to do disputes. Now you need all this extra stuff that nobody’s thinking about while doing a deal and when they take months to reply to the report I might not even have anymore. I got scammed $150 and sent in all the evidence before both parties left the group chat and is disbanded, but all because I didn’t record it instead of screenshotting it was insufficient (all screenshots were taken on mobile which can’t be altered anyways)

You can’t alter if you screenshot on mobile and was an acceptable form of proof for many years. I had access to the group but wasn’t told until months later that I had to record which at that point everyone already left the group and I didn’t create it so I don’t know.

The owner of the group can remove everybody. Lets say I scam someone, and do this:

Create a group,
conduct all interactions for the deal inside this group,
when it's complete (and I've scammed buyer), I remove everyone else
leave the group myself, disbanding the group and losing it forever

But screenshots were acceptable all years prior to the change and when the scam report resolver takes months to give me replies I might not have the chats anymore. They also don't even let the person i'm reporting give a statement or anything and now it's just case closed and I lost $150.

Also I don't think I made the group so when both parties left I lost access to it.

They likely removed you to stop you from reporting their messages. However for the future:

You can submit Discord messages if you do the following:

• Start a recording
• Go to the messages with the user(s)
• Copy each users ID and show it in chat so it can be verified as their account
• Refresh your Discord Client
• Show all the relevant messages

The issue with screenshots, as previously said, is the fact that they can be altered very easily. Even though it is not the fastest process, I do think it's safer for both sides when it comes to maintaining a positive reputation whilst simultaneously ensuring that actions can be taken against the offender.

Anyone with a little bit of skill can do it and always have been so why is it an issue now?
