Fix the contest and giveaways so we can edit them over time

Our company plans on doing weekly contest giveaways and the thread will become quite clustered if we can not edit the main post. Nor do we want to make a new one each week. What we are proposing is changing the Contest and Giveaway section back to how it use to be, so we can style it and update it each week.

As long as there is a limit to how much you can change it and there is a log for each change (can be viewed by staff) , I dont really see a problem

This has been suggested and denied before, for the reason people could change the terms of the giveaway halfway through. I dont really see a way to reasonably limit what you can change while still allowing stuff like fixing things.
The only way I can see that we could do what you suggest without letting people mess with their original posts is adding a form of updating your giveaways.

You'll have to create a new thread each week.

Giving people the ability to edit their thread would just result in them bypassing the form and it's requirements. Giveaway section was really terrible a few months back. It's slightly better now with the form.
