Fluent - The Freelancer Finder

What is fluent?
Fluent is a system that helps you match with a freelancer to do your project. It improves on the current freelancer service team approach by providing extra secrecy (you decide who you want to see your projects), guaranteed refunds if the commission is not completed and full transparency. Not only that, but you can use our marketplace to buy pre-made builds made by our freelancers.

How is fluent different?
Fluent's business model is different from the competition: we work as a middleman between the freelancers and the clients. We are neutral and provide safe transactions between the two parties. We provide services for both clients (product marketplace, freelancer search), and also services for freelancers (marketplace slots, finding clients, portfolio websites).
Most of the system is automatic, meaning that it's really fast. Everything from commission creation to payment is done using a wizard.
What does this mean for you?
  • Safe transactions ✔️
  • Ability to choose who you want to work with yourself ✔️
  • Extra trust ✔️

How do we select our freelancers?
Our freelancers are hand-selected to be experienced, trustable and good learners.
Most of our freelancers have worked with leading Minecraft networks.
Some examples of our current freelancers are:
An automatically generated portfolio list is available on our site for all of our freelancers, accessible HERE.

How does Fluent Work?
It's all simple and straight-forward. To start a commission, just write any message in #Start. The bot will ask you a few questions to know what you want.
After that is finished, you will be prompted to select who you want to work with from a list of available freelancers. You can see their reviews, CV and experience; meaning you don't have to worry about being assigned a bad freelancer. You can tick off anybody you don't want to work on your project.
Freelancers will then be sent commission requests. If they accept, you'll be prompted to pay via PayPal. After paying, the freelancer will need to finish your entire project to receive his funds.

What does Fluent do better?
Fluent is all about the clients. It provides extra features to make your day easier. We provide projects that you can rely on.
We also:
  • Pay the fees for you. You pay what your budget says, nothing more.
  • Provide refunds if the project is not finished in time. No questions asked.
  • Allow you to see metrics (reviews, CV, experience level) to know who you're working with.
  • Provide enterprise-quality services. Large networks can reliably use our service.

Safe for the freelancer, Safe for you
Since we work as a middleman ensuring the transaction is done, there's no need to worry. The freelancer can't scam since he doesn't get anything until you get the product you've asked for.

Freelancer Friendly
We help our freelancers have all the tools they need to finish your project efficiently. This means more revenue for them, and faster answer times for you. We all win.
Freelancers even get a dashboard to see their comissions, add new resources to the marketplace, etc.

Coupons for server owners
Server owners receive coupons based on their server size.
To get a coupon, simply write your server's name in #verification and you will receive further instructions. The whole verification system is automatic and takes 3 minutes!

Coupons (apply for comissions of minimum 50$):
  • Enterprise (100+) : 30$ coupon
  • Established Server (50+): 20$ coupon
  • Server owner (10+): 10$ coupon

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If I'm not wrong, this is against MC-Market rules. It's technically a competitor since you're taking business away from MCM.
Thought about that, but said it was fine since I've seen multiple service teams here without any issues. If it's against the rules, I'm fully ok with it being removed.

Thanks for notifying me of the website issue.

Edit: Discord is down, so the website can't get the information required from them.

Love this idea hopefully it sticks
Question tho; does it give you options in order of like cheapest -> expensive or does it atleast give budget options or just sorta more expensive

I’m going to check with Mick and Justis to see if this is allowed or not.
Thank you.

Most of the freelancers employed work for higher than average prices. They do live up to their expectations though, and for a network; having to spend 10 minutes to get an idea fully implemented and ready for production i think it's worth it.

Vouch I know Glare, and I know he's a great developer and a great friend! :)

Side note:
I am not associated with them in any way shape or form, just noticed Glare was here.

Hate to say it but it looks kinda low quality for reasons:
1) you left your site in debug mode or something and made stack traces displayed to users
2) the dashboard dosent match the theme of the main page
3) clicking on some of the portfolios just gives u a 404 page, some make this transparent grey layer appear and make the site unuseable cause you cant click anything
4) people were spamming Everyone in your discord, you didnt disable it for users
5) your bot asks for the description of your project, so i spent like 3 minutes writing it and then it instantly deleted it and said it had to be a link

1) Yes. That's because Fluent is in full development. I'm always working on adding new features. While it may not look as professional, it covers by being way easier to add new functional features that benefit the client.
2) It's freelancer only, and it's using a theme on the internet. The main idea of the dashboard is to make it easier for freelancers to use the site. It's not like people have the same theme as an admin theme on xenforo or wordpress.
3) Will notify the freelancers to update their portfolio links.
4) Solved.
5) Discord limits the amount of characters you can input in a thread description. Thus, i can't save a full text description. I may make a system to auto-upload the description to a website, but for now i believe a link-based system allows you to input more info.

Generally, Fluent focuses to be as functional and straightforward as possible. While it may not be the most flashy, it provides high-quality results.

Testing code in a production environment is generally bad practice and can lead to security exploits, not just bugs. Exposing your stacktraces to the public is generally insecure as well. What if the part of the code the error occurred on exposed something that could cause a security issue?

That shouldn't happen. The client input is checked so there's no issue of XSS or invalid answers.

Additionally, i've made sure to not include any secret information in the code. All the variables (Discord Token, Database, etc) are stored encrypted and require a token that is provided at startup as a system variable to decrypt.

They are only stored in memory for a split second, and memory is only accessible before the user has any way of interacting with the bot. (Discord integration & web integration).

The reason I allow stack traces on production is that it makes debugging easier. Fluent auto-deploys to docker, which takes around 5 minutes for the docker image to be created and then for watchtower to detect the new image and update to it.

I can technically test without deploying, but having 2 bot instances screws up the discord integration, since they detect & answer to a message twice.

This doesn't fully excuse my practices, but they are fine for the size that the project is at right now.

You could make a discord server as a test environment and a separate bot for test purposes to help with that issue.

Yeah, you're right. Will eventually have to do that. For now i'm trying to get fluent to be 100% stable so I can re-enable error messages. (which hide stacktraces)

Or just log stacktraces to a file?? Unless youre using a shitty framework that dosent support that
Yeah, I can do that. For now, though, it doesn't prove to be an issue. I prefer the extra speed to the minor security improvements that hiding stack traces would offer.
