Which game are you guys enjoying more?

I used to play tons of Fortnite, but I'm overall fed up with the state of not being able to play casual public matches without some guy trying to get into Chronic, and I've developed a strange liking for Apex even though I hate all the FPS' I've played (BO3, PUBG, H1), and I've been playing a lot of it.

Thread's not for game trashing for personal preference

Personally I'm not a huge fan of Battle Royale games, but I have to give my support to Apex. My biggest problem with Fortnite, at least in the later seasons, was the build spamming. It felt as if the game had completely forgone any sort of gun play in favor of who can build faster. Alongside the fact that people were and probably still are buying mouse and keyboard for console it was really silly. Apex relies more on being able to win your gunfights and coordinate with your team instead of on learning how to build towers and flick shots.

I couldnt agree more.

The main reason I stopped playing fortnite was because people would mainly focus on building. Apex relies more on winning gun battles and aiming.

Just the fact that people sweat building in fortnite.

In defence to FN, the core aspect and difference from other BRs is the build feature, naturally people would get better at building - not sure how you can complain about that being a thing in FN. And using M&KB on console automatically matches them up with other M&KB players.

100% though, Apex gets my vote and I agree on the gunfights and team-play. Much more enjoyable coming from someone who has played FN religiously for around 14 months straight and was quite good.

Probably due to turbo building, but as the game got older this was inevitable

Oh absolutely. I'm not saying that the build system is necessarily a bad thing. It was a new innovation to the Battle Royale genre and it allowed Fortnite to stand out. Its just on a personal note for me not my favorite thing. I loved when they added the gamemode where you were limited to only having a limited amount of materials, it felt like a nice blend between building and actual gunplay.

Is there a "fortnite gay" "my pc cant run either game so idk" or "none of the above" option?

I don't understand why people can't get their head around building, it's just another mechanic you gotta learn and it's really not that hard to get into

I think it was definitely more skill-based before turbo-building became a thing, but for many it made it more enjoyable I guess.
Either way, for me, it was inevitable that the game was going to get boring after playing it for over a year. Haven't really liked FN it since maybe season 5.

No doubt Apex will get boring eventually too, but it's the refresh that every BR fan has needed for a while, so no complaints.

It's not that it's necessarily hard to do, my problem with it is people over rely on it to win games. There have been countless times where players I'm facing can't hit any of their shots and as a result spam build until either A) someone else from another squad or another players jumps me and they pop out at the last second and get a cheese kill. Or B) they get into a 1v1 with me and the moment the fight begins to go downhill for them they spam build until someone else in their squad can come save them.

It's not hard to build, pretty easy and I've outbuilded people many times but it's the people that spend hours in Creative doing 90's and other shit

They do all the unnecessary and sweat shit like this whilst in a casual public match

The meta is starting to prioritise aim more as yes you're right most of the retards who used to know how to build couldn't click anywhere near you, but you need to know the basics to be able to stand a change it's just a case of actually learning how to[DOUBLEPOST=1551848162][/DOUBLEPOST]

All those build techniques have their uses in regular build fights so what's your point

Unfortunately my will to play that game no longer exists. I'm completely burnt out of playing most Battle Royale games tbh xD

Never seen someone do 90's and edits like that in an actual fight, they're not relevant like that, my point is about building that there's literally people who'll waste their mats until the mat cap rushing and fighting me. I rely heavily on my good aim and I shouldn't have to be engaged in a scrim type of fight if I'm just trying to win a public match

Since I gave my criticisms on Fortnite, I'll give my criticism on Apex Legends. Sometimes I feel like the guns are completely bipolar. One minute guns feel like they're mowing down just about everyone in sight and then two seconds later they feel like paintball guns. (Now yes I'm taking into consideration players all have different attachments and armor). I'm also not a big fan of the map. It's not bad by any means but its forgettable. The locations are bland and a lot of the areas look similar and indifferent. Compared to games like Fortnite or Black Ops 4 etc.
